This kinda proves Coldplay knows how to make catchy songs then! Something similar happened to me. I didn't like it at first. Catchy songs I actually tend to like instantly ! But songs which present me with new sounds or more layers it takes a few listens for my brain to unravel them. I see your point but I am not sure we can judge from one live performance? (Unless Im mistaken and they´ve played it more than once already?). I remember the live debut of Adventure was definitely not that good either. Thats what I was alluding to. Hard to judge from one video only. I could not find any video of Hymn from Paris concert and I dont know where they played it the third time. I actually thought the St John's Hackney Church was much better... the sound quality was better and maybe because they debuted it, Chris' singing was a bit more controlled - the one in Paris has him careening off a bit quite frequently. Also got to see more of the rest of the band with the UK one... I just love watching the other guys play their guitars :) EDIT: Actually I take back the part about Chris' singing being better in the Hackney concert - it is probably more controlled but lacks the strength of his Paris performance... In Offenbach I thought the live version was ace as well. The beat, whoa! For a moment I wondered whether I still was at a Coldplay gig, because the song has such a different vibe, but it made me feel so great and happy.
