I have the impression it is more and more "required" to like all of Coldplay's output in order to be allowed to voice your opinion on the threads. This makes me sad.

That's really not what I meant to say. I very much respect your guys' opinions for not liking whatever song you don't like because tastes simply are different. It's all about respect. The only thing I wish was different is people claiming it's very obvious that this (or any other) song is worse or better than any other song. Because it's not - we all have different tastes. Yes, from a very sober point of view one could argue that a song, again whichever song it may be, has a higher musical quality music or whatever you wanna call it. But that doesn't mean that some people won't prefer a song of less quality over a song with a higher quality. And those opinions and tastes need to be respected :)

Well, when I was a young boy (I tried to listen ) almost every song CP was putting out for me was the best song ever. Growing up, I realized how many great songs there are in contemporary music history and I revisited my opinions. I think that someone is experiencing something similar at the moment

Most of the pre-Viva songs are literally among my favourite of all time (most, but by no means all - for example I really don't like Swallowed in the Sea, High Speed or Murder, to name just a few); I just feel a lot of originality missing in Coldplay's work these days. Also, as someone who never liked mainstream pop, I found Coldplay's early work to be so different and refreshing, and their latter to be very close to/exactly the same as the very music I don't like.

In the beginning sound a bit like Up In Flames, then there are these Oceans vibes, but in the end I'd say that I like it. It's not something very memorable, but I think it works quite good. And finally no ooooooohs everywhere!!!!

If you read my posts round here, you know that I'm very critic about their recent outputs, but I'm not the one who critics only for fun, I try to be always true to myself.

The only thing that I miss is that the last time I got shivers listening to a CP song for the first time was for Christmas Lights. I'm waiting to be emotionally carried away since then, but for now they failed. Anyway, I'm not gonna hate this

I agree. There's just been something about their last several albums that just seems uninspired and lyrically very generic. Adventure of a Lifetime has me optimistic and Everglow has me pessimistic. I did tend to like the 10 second snippets the other day though.

Everglow is a sweet song to listen to in the context of the album. It's a nice song but I'm not gonna be putting it on repeat.

I think this is a good description of how I feel. It is a good song, but not one i'd regularly go and select from my library and put on repeat. But if it comes up on shuffle, I'd leave it on.

I'm still a little unsure about this one. I like it, I do absolutely love the piano! But for the first verse and chorus I was like "what the hell is Chris saying?" And I know that is him and he semi mumbles but usually I can understand but this time was quite difficult. The lyrics are sweet and it prgresses nicely, my main concern is, how on earth is this going to flow into adventure of a lifetime? Such a nice sweet emotional track to *cue guitar intro to AOAL with de ba das* it just doesn't seem to work if anyone else gets me?
