Ahead of the BRIT nominations this evening (January 18), more rumours have begun circulating about this year’s special guest performers. While a few have already been confirmed, many now believe that Jay Z will perform ‘Empire State Of Mind’ with Alicia Keys. Matt Bellamy and co are reportedly in the running for only one award. This prompted their record company to threaten to boycott the booze-laden, back-slapping, narc-fest. They didn’t in the end.…

News for returning members: Deadline is November 7th!! This thread will be specifically for gathering the actual participants of the project. The project is to send requests to Coldplay/ the bakery for another Nappies or Nappies- like video. They owe us 6 by the way!! After we have a lot of people we'll figure out the details. We are planning on recoding a video/ audio "performance" of our Nappies Recruitment/ theme song. This will be done by all members with a camera or microphone. We will record ourselves singing the song, and either I or LhunaSleepingSun or Keddiechan and Karen6321 will splice these videos up, editing it together into one big video. To see the son…

The body representing Britain's commercial radio groups has launched an attack on the Corporation over excessive use of the 'Radio 1' logo in publicity for Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour. It says it contradicts the BBC's policy on endorsement. It is planning to take its complaint to the BBC Trust. RadioCentre, the commercial radio body, has also accused the BBC of "undue prominence" of Coldplay's music and promotions for its Viva La Vida tour on the radio and online. The commercial radio sector is angered that the BBC is spending too much time promoting established bands - such as Coldplay and U2. It argues that the Corporation should prioritise music by up-and…

Gary Lightbody has said that he wants to become as successful as Coldplay and U2 in the coming year. According to Contactmusic, the Snow Patrol frontman wants to build on the band's current popularity and take a step up to the next level in 2010. He said: "I see U2 in a class of their own, Coldplay in the next tier down and us and a ton of bands in the tier below them." Although the group received an encouraging crowd response as last-minute headliners at this year's V Festival in Chelmsford after Oasis pulled out unexpectedly, Lightbody insisted that they still have a way to go before they can match the country's top-billing acts. He added: "I don't see them as equals…

Did you ever notice when Chris plays the piano, he puts his face about a inch above the keyboard. Does he need glasses, better lighting, or is just trying to put his head down and sneek in a nap?

Found this randomly! Unintentionally listening to boyfriend's music.... Suicide Silence, a deathcore band, personally released their album early that had them talking all through it over their new songs, to annoy people who had illegally downloaded it. And, they mention Coldplay in it!!! A deathcore band that likes Coldplay :) :) Have a listen - 3.17 minutes through the song 'Lifted'. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QO9BWZ18 http://www.mediafire.com/?j14mctfmnzo
