  1. from Los Angeles,California. “…who else is weaving cantorial yearning through the tuneful electricity of Afro-Islamic jangle and the tribal antics of Adam & the Ants?” - L.A. Weekly Fool’s Gold is a Los Angeles collective that weaves together western pop aesthetics with African rhythms and melodies. The group started as a side project of two young LA musicians, vocalist/bassist Luke Top and lead guitarist Lewis Pesacov, who set out to explore their shared love of various forms of African music (specifically Congolese, Ethiopan, Eritrean and Malian), Krautrock, and 80s dance influenced pop music. They quickly wrote a few inspired songs and asked friends, fri…

Does anyone love the band Garbage as much as I do? I think Shirley Manson is just phenomenal. My favorite songs are As Heaven Is Wide, The Trick Is To Keep Breathing, Hammering In My Head and Supervixen.

Hi Everybody, This is my first thread about musicians artists, and, rather than talking about famous artists, like Ben Harper or The Black Keys, I will begin with a new french writter and singer : CKLM. He is really talentuous, and I ask for your feelings, you can listen it on his official website CKLM.EU , or on DEEZER. For me, it' seems like an acoustic journey in the heart of an harmonic and eclectic world. I encourage you to discover his wide range of sounds illustrating his poetic universe. Next time : I will introduce THE BLACK KEYS

I want to gather you beautiful Musers and make a week for them, because I know you guys are out there. I'll try my best to make sure it doesn't get in the way of the other weeks going on. So, is there anyone other than me willing to undertake this? If so, lemme know. Construction for Muse Week: Day 1: "Showbiz"-Carla Day 2: "Origin of Symmetry"-Marisa (In a telescope lens) Day 3: "Absolution"-Violet (violetsparks) Day 4: "Black Holes and Revelations"-Kelly (Hysteria) Day 5: "The Resistance"-Christina (Showbiz) Day 6: B-Sides Gal…

I don't think there's a thread about him, so, does anyone know his music/comics? he rules! "Jeffrey Lewis is an American anti-folk singer/songwriter and comic book artist." He has 20 albums. It's kind of insane. I've only heard a few of them, but I have some bootlegs and they're really awesome. Remember when Kimya Dawson got all that fame for doing the Juno soundtrack? I wish something like that would happen to Jeff. He's collaborated with her before. This is a thread to discuss the music of Finnish band Magenta Skycode. Magenta Skycode is an indie rock/pop band from Turku, Finland. Magenta Skycode’s frontman is Jori Sjöroos, who is also known as Fu-Tourist and the producer of PMMP, popular Finnish rock band. Debut album, “IIIII” (2006) could be described as “electric post punk” or something like that with lush epic melodies. The band has since released two more songs entitled "We're Going To Climb" & "Escaping Outdoors" early in 2009. You can purchase these songs on iTunes. (Though, I'm not sure if it's available everywhere...) Links: http://www.magentaskycode.com/ http://www.myspace.com/magentaskycode ht…

  24. Sometimes you listen to an album and think the first time “hey, this is pretty good”. But soon you find yourself listening to it non-stop for a few days or weeks. One of those albums for me this year has been Aidan Knight’s Versicolor. While it is just 8 songs long, and one of those is sort of an interlude, each track is enjoyable and completely immune to the “skip forward” button. The Victoria, B.C. native is also in this Peak Performance Project contest where he has been working very hard to win $100 000 as part of the contest but needs your help from voting. He has set up a fun facebook page Friendly Friends, and also has a website here which will re-direct you to…
