Just wanted to create a thread for my new favourite band at the moment, The Bridgeheads, any fans on this forum? I think their new album Foreigners is brilliant, posting two songs here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpzKljqIHW0]YouTube- The Bridgeheads - Pi[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA4VH04AC-w]YouTube- The Bridgeheads - Best Ones[/ame] And a trailer for the album (samples of 11 videos made by the singer): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlnk4fQhK_U]YouTube- The Bridgeheads - Foreigners LP Trailer[/ame]

Just been writing in an Assignment about people's valuation of music and the classic Radiohead case comes up in a lot I read about. I'm interested to find out what people paid for 'In Rainbows' when it was released as a a 'pay-what-you want' download? And would you change your initial decision based on your current judgement of the album? Did you buy the CD too?

Starting a thread to see if there are any Noah and The Whale fans out there. I'm a really massive Noah fan (almost as big as Coldplay ;) )... For those who might have not heard of them, they are mostly known in the UK for their song '5 Years Time'. They have released two fantastic albums, the most recent being 'The First Days of Spring' which is IMO one of the best albums. Ever! (But I might be a bit bias) So any Noah fans out there?

Eddie Vedder performs onstage at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony in 2007 in New York City Pearl Jam, Radiohead And Nine Other Surefire Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers Green Day, Kid Rock and Coldplay also seem like locks for the Hall, in Bigger Than the Sound. On Tuesday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame unveiled the nominees for induction in 2011, a list that's as inspiring (Beastie Boys! Tom Waits! Dr. John!) as it is mystifying (LL Cool J?). Not surprisingly, this year's noms sparked a whole lot of debate — because kvetching about the Rock Hall is an exercise as old as the Hall itself — and for most of the day, I was ready to lend my voice to …

I want to be a musician one day so I want to see what other people's opinions are. So I have two questions! :D (These apply to any band) 1. What would you want on a single? 2. Do you actually like the instrumentals and radio edits?

  13. I think there is another thread like this but I'm too lazy to search, I was reading the "Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste" thread and I was thinking about the big difference between the first cd I got and the last one :wacky: My first CD was Backstreet Boys - Millennium :wacky: it was 1999 and I finally got a cd, I had millions of cassettes so cd's were so cool for me :wacky: The last one was Arcade Fire - The Suburbs, I got it as a present and it's probably my favorite album of the year :wacky: what about you?

  15. Personally I never understood why autographs are so coveted. The idea of getting excited over a famous person scribbling on something because their a famous person ...never did it for me. A picture however, amazing! Not only are you in the personal bubble of someone you idolize or look up to or respect while taking the picture (and if your lucky with their hand on your shoulder or resting on your waist) but the concept of a photo visually freezing a moment in time where you met someone who you are a big fan of ....seems like probably the best thing outside of conversation with said person. Imo ...I think its especially cool since the case with most famous artists…

  17. So after seeing Greg's thread on musical tastes over the years I began to think about all the bands i've seen over the years. It also got me thinking... Do you typically get into a band before or after you see them live. Like is it before or after you see a band live that they become all that you listen to? For me I find that for the most part it's after I see a band live that I have a few weeks later that they are what I mainly listen to.

It's almost been a year since we all began to make our lists for the best albums of 2009. Looking back, how have these albums changed as time has gone on? Are there are albums that you thought we brilliant in 09 but you now never listen to? Are there albums that have grown on you? Discuss.

I know in the lounge a pretty popular thread is the webcam pics, mugshots, etc. thread. Well lets take that concept and apply it here. If you go to a show and bring a camera along with you, and have some decent shots and videos post them here for all to see!

  20. Started by The Final Track,

I'm doing a statistics project for school and I decided to do mine about first week album sales of albums releases this year. I've got a list of about 20 albums, a bit more, and have been able to find information to 4 of them. Does anyone know where I can find information about first week sales for albums? I'm also keeping track of labels and chart peeking. Thanks in advance.

Every September, the Polaris music prize is handed out to the best Canadian album as decided by a jurors and a Grand Jury. The albums selected are based on artistic merit, not album sales, label, or genre. This year the 10 finalists are The Besnard Lakes (The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night), Broken Social Scene (Forgiveness Rock Record), Caribou (Swim), Karkwa (Les Chemins de Verre), Dan Mangan (Nice, Nice, Very Nice), Owen Pallett (Heartland), Radio Radio (Belmundo Regal), The Sadies (Darker Circles), SHAD (TSOL), and Tegan and Sara (Sainthood). Who do you want to win etc.? I'm covering it over at my blog this week. http://thebrokenspeaker.com/ Gala and awa…

Ronson's gives his version IT'S half eight in the evening, and Mark Ronson has had a long day. But you won't hear him grumbling about doing another interview. "It's been a bit of a marathon but it's fun," says the 31-year-old. "I'm not complaining about playing music on the radio, it could be worse." You may not recognise him by name, but by the end of this summer, industry insiders are predicting Mark's name will be everywhere. Renowned for his work behind the DJ decks and producer throne - credits include Amy Winehouse's smash hit Rehab, Lily Allen's Littlest Things and two songs on Christina Aguilera's Back To Basics album - he now steps out as an 'artist' wit…
