i've downloaded Fitzcarraldo and it's excellent. Very mellow. I am really liking this band and I think I may purchase one of their albums! Anyone else heard?!

They're sisters, they're Canadian and they're pretty cool. I think Sara (or Tegan, don't know the difference) lives near me in Montreal. hehe.. Anyone like them?

I love music books but since I'm a big Beatles maniac my library it's almost just about them (which is awesome anyway :P) Do you have any book recommendations about certain bands, biographies or history of rock in general? I'm reading The Beatles Anthology at the moment but would like to get something about another band maybe.

Looks as though no one has made a thread about this band. I quite like their music. They have sort of a distinct sound I find, especially with the synths or guitars that they use. Anyone else a fan? So I was chatting with briggins online about a show he went to and he mentioned how amazing it was and how much it left an impression. So that got me thinking, when it comes to concerts what would be say your top 5-10 overall of all time, and then of a particular year?

Ok, if there is already a thread about Madrugada, I'm very sorry, but I couldn't find it and they deserve one! Or more! They're from Norway, and I guess they're not that well known. Do many other people like Madrugada? What do you think is their best song? At the moment my favourite is A deadend mind.

For example, if you're at a show and you're next to some crazy fans that are jumping around, screaming, having an all around good time, do you have a better time than if you're next to people that are standing looking bored and not having fun? :thinking:

So next year we have REM releasing their 15th album and U2 giving us their 13th offering. Both of these bands rose to prominence in the 1980s and have continued remain active 30 years later. My question is what currently popular bands do you think have the potential to have that kind of longevity? Some are well on their way (Radiohead, Pearl Jam) and some have the desire (Coldplay, The Killers) but who do you think will actually do it?
