The World Of Music

Anyone else listen to this artist? I cam across them just recently and I've enjoyed what I've heard so far. The vocalist reminds me a bit of Regina Spektor. Who are they? I'm not talking about greatest live bands (although many will fall into this category). I'm more interested in bands whose CD, as good as it might be, doesn't quite do them justice. This could be from experience, watching a live DVD, listening to bootleg tapes, etc.

I ask this question because a friend of mine specifically asked me to make him a "road trip" mixtape, and I'm going blank at the moment. Do you prefer faster or slower music? Do you like heavy music, or do you go more with the acoustic approach? Give me your thoughts.

So there's this song that I have in my head. I have NO idea who sings it. All I know is the video features what looks like a bunch of English school kids in their gym outfits running oustide in a field along a track in shitty weather. WHO IS THIS?? HELP!:inquisitive:

The name says it all. Anybody a fan of Pink Floyd? I was a fan of them before I found Coldplay... I lik the later albums, saw The Wall, and their hits, of course, are my favourites. Although I really like some Roger Waters pieces, like "Towers Of Faith."

For those that have gone to shows, what have been some moments that you would consider to be the best concert moments and why. For me I have quite a few... Hello Goodbye-Paul McCartney (was the moment when he came on stage and I couldn't believe I was seeing a Beatle live!) Hey Jude-Paul McCartney (the crowd singing along was just something else) Here Today-Paul McCartney (a tribute to John Lennon... extremely moving) Square One-Coldplay (Opening their show with this was great with the countdown behind them... it really got everyone extremely excited) In The Flesh-Roger Waters (one of my favorite songs to see, and it was a perfect way to open the show)…

:thinking: Sooo, as I sit here trying to sing my son to sleep, I am reminded just how oddly violent some lullabies can be.:confused: So, I am asking all you talented and gifted musicians / lyricists to give a go at composing a few new lullabies - preferably on youtube ? Of course ideally there's no such thing as perfect but this is a thread to list what albums you think are perfect. What I consider to help determine if an album is perfect is the overall flow of an album, if there's no weak songs/flaws, and I it's an album that you can always go back to. So with that said what albums do you consider to be perfect? For me there are very few but the ones I consider perfect are: Abbey Road-The Beatles Dark Side of the Moon-Pink Floyd Kid A-Radiohead In Rainbows-Radiohead There's other albums I'm considering, but I have to think about them for a while. They include: Funeral-Arcade Fire Person Pitch-Panda Bear

Give me your opinion on the top 5 greatest albums of all time. Keep in mind of influence on popular culture and the effect on music itself and how influential it was. I know everyone will say the beatles sgt. peppers and revolver in the top 5 but what would be the others?
