AOAL Music Video (Out Nov 27th)

Maybe it's just me, but did anyone notice in the little clip that in the scene where the band is playing in the studio, the little tv above them looks like the apes are performing in the alternate ASFOS video.....again, I'm sure it just has to do with CGI effects, just had the thought and thought I would mention it

It's just the low polygon render of the actual animated video later on. Like a preview-video before the fully rendered and detailed version.

did anyone notice how jonny and guy have switched places relative to chris and are holding their instruments left handed? and the animation is mirrored compared to the original take, unless the original take video is mirrored.. weird.. what's the point? technically, i can't think of a reason.

I am usually calm & cool & all but seriously...

NO

okay, I get it, paradise was a big hit. it has the most views on their channel, but I mean, do they have to repeat the same thing all over again, with the same director even? :blank:

bunch of the members RTing this hehe

Even though I think it's weird I can't wait to the release! This will be so funny! Plus Guy is dancing!

I just burst out laughing seeing Johnny doing "his dance" with his guitar and then looking up seeing that damn cap!

Viva Johnny :D

Anyways, I'm excited for the video. Coldplay always makes either the most interesting videos, weirdest videos or funniest videos. Keep them coming. :D

Come on everyone, this is much less weird than the Hardest Part video...

That was a terrible video too. This one isn't impressing me off the get go.

As much as I don't like the monkeys, I agree with you on this

It made me laugh. Not exactly The Scientist but it serves its purpose. I like it.

It looks like Andy Serkis' Imaginarium in London... I wonder if Simon Pegg connected him with the band after trolling the Star Wars set.

Am I the only one here who thinks The Hardest Part vid was an interesting one - for turning the idea on what dancers can, could and should be on it's head?

Coldplay has nearly always had, how to say...weird and sometimes unfitting music videos. The worst one imho is The Hardest Part, closely followed by Princess Of China. This ape video seems to be just as silly as the whole song is, so it is actually quite fitting. Slight chances of it being understood as insulting to Indian culture (now they write Coldplay in Hindi, have Hindi influences in their music, and first thing they do is pretend to be apes...)

So in short, stupid video for a song that is, in my opinion, no better. I quite like Jonny with his cap though !

i give up

The video is directed by Mat Whitecross!

Now I understand why it looks like a terrible idea. I'm so done with his music videos (except ETIAW and LiJ).

As the first video of this era I was expecting something short of Magic, ETIAW, Violet Hill, Speed of Sound... I'll wait for the video but so far I'm disappointed.

it looks cool! k font get ur hate

I wasn't expecting another Strawberry Swing-quality video so I'm not too disappointed. This is only a little clip, for all we know there might be an actual storyline rather than just random shots of the band in ape suits. The only reason I like the elephant suits in the Paradise video is because the runaway elephant storyline actually makes sense in the context of the song.

Who knows, this might bring more views on youtube then Paradise ad cause AOAL to top the charts.

Eh I nearly gave up on Coldplay music videos after watching that terrible ASFOS video, and the True Love one made me stay away from all music videos by any artist since. But I might give this one a try.

What was everyone expecting? The lads performing on top of a pyramid of disco-garbed people dancing? This era has been full of curveballs. I'm expecting this music video to be the same.

Come on everyone, this is much less weird than the Hardest Part video...

:laugh3:

This is such a strange video for AOAL.

For me it doesn't fit to the lyrics in the song.

Are we sure it's not for Hymn for the weekend?

That would be a better match for me.

And also, why releasing a video on 27/11 for a song that came out on 6/11?

If there was one thing Coldplay could improve it would be their music videos! But I love AOAL and I'm still excited to see how to video turns out. I didn't like the Paradise video at first but it quickly grew on me. Maybe the same will happen with this one. At least the whole band is in it, albeit in gorilla form.
