Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)

This has still never been confirmed as a first single and my theories are: 1. articles have said "no video" will be made 2. Album hasnt been named yet so why release a single? 3. Will champion said they want to release this before festivals start ( so is this just promo single?) 4. as far as i know coldplay never have released a single without naming the album first 5 No one ever mentions "first single from the new album"

...that all the bad vibes with LP5 stemming from ETIAW can be deemed invalid. It took one listen to Cartoon Heart, Major Minus (:o), Us Against the World, and Hurts Like Heaven for me to go crazy over this. Even Teardrop doesn't sound that bad live. Also, Brian Eno is an ambient sex god. Just saying. :P

I'm an old school Coldplay fan, but my lifes love is Thom Yorke and Radiohead. Regardless when I heard that Coldplay was finally coming out with new stuff I got excited and celebrated the release of "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" just like you all probably did. Anyway, long story short; I was blown away. I personally gave the song a 10 on Coldplaying's poll. The reason I enjoyed it so much was primarily Chris Martin's use of vocals. I noticed several reviews that noted how heavily amplified Chris's voice was and it didn't go unnoticed to me. I can't find any HD Versions of Rock am Ring on youtube and i'm also not so good at downloading videos. Everyone seems to be considering that Coldplay sampled the original song, possibly because it's slightly less embarrassing, but the song (Ritmo de la Noche) that sampled the original sounds exactly like Coldplay's, the original doesn't, it's similar but I think not quite enough to say Coldplay had sampled it. As for Ritmo de la Noche, it's exactly the same with synth on it, can people hear properly? I just wanted to take the time to bring attention to something that I would hope that most of us already know... your musical tastes are a matter of opinion. ETIAW is just a song and if you like it... that's great. If you don't like it... that's fine too. No one is right... no one is wrong. There is no reason to try to convince someone that hates the song that they should love it and there is also no reason to tell someone who loves it that they are just fooling themselves for doing so. Wow, such a long time since I was active on this forum, but since Coldplay started posting all the video teasers for the song I just couldn't help myself. I find it fascinating that people have such various opinions about this song. I too was one of those people who believed that LP5 would turn out as a mainly acoustic album, following in trail of Spanish Rain, Death will never conquer etc. However, this didn't surprise me at all.
