i have nothing against her, but just i don't think she'll fit with Coldplay, thought seeing the new album path may be, i hope it'll be more Umbrella than Rude Boy. I was waiting for the official release to check the song and avoid to listen the live recordings, but may be i've been wrong.

I hardly think EMI had anything to do with Rhianna being in the song. I read in an article that Chris asked her personally after a show if she could feature in their new song.

I must say, I've listened to Rihanna more times than most (not under my will, of course), but I can say this:

 

If done right, it can work. This news may be disappointing, but I'm not giving up hope on this song just yet ;)

Is she really necessary... this is not looking good. I like ETIAW where as some do not but this isn't allowed. Coldplay are fine on their own to sell records they don't need her to sell music. If they want a female voice why don't they just get some no name who can sing, that way it's still about them.

Anw, I think that the band must have thought this through before they decided to put her on the list. i believe in their decision, especially because this has been approved by Will.

OMG..... I think we can thank Jay-Z and Chris's friendship for this duet! Oh God, seriously...... I would have been able to deal with Beyonce but Rihanna, no! Anyway I'm sure it will be a successful track thanks to Rihanna's fan, so if Coldplay wanted to reach a new kind of audience, great for them, but shame for us..... What a day, after the disappointment of Paradise and this news, kind of nightmare, isn't it?

If they wanted it to be more with a feeling they could choose Adele.

If they wanted just a good artist with a great voice and the most epic collab they could choose Florence Welch.

Ok, the article references "female vocals" no where does it call it a duet... this leads be to believe that she'll be singing the "la la la la" part which Im ok with... hell it might make that part less boring.
