By the way, in case you don't know yet, that EP is fake, both its title and cover art. The tracks are real, though Break of Dawn is actually called Vampire Symphony. That version was also manipulated/edited by the leaker, they created the EP, mashed up together two different takes of Vampire Symphony and renamed it as Break of Dawn. The song is mostly accurate to its original version, though, but still not the original due to the mixing and the leak having those hideous filtered vocals. Thought you should know so we can avoid any eventual misinformation regarding the fake EP.

Although studio version is ok and Coldplay performing it alone has been pretty fine actually, is this the most embarrassing performance ever for Coldplay? I mean all the instrumentation is barely audible and then there is just 7 guys jumping and saying something randomly into microphone like monkeys. Please, Chris you are 44 already, one of the best frontman in the world,Β what are you doing in the middle of these unprofessional performers?

Is this a shreds video?

If I were in Coldplay's position, I'd make Vol. 2 an EP like Kaleidoscope and Vol. 3 a live album. Because making two more full length albums like MOTS at this point would be suicide.Β Β

Good idea, it has potential.

For me I'd like Vol.Β 2 to be full ablum and maybe Vol.3 can be a EP with a fewΒ live songs thrown in.

My biggest gripe with Vol. 1 (which I also have with Everyday Life to be honest) was all the short interlude musical pieces. If they cut them and instead replaced them with a 3Β orΒ 5 minute full length song that's ambient in nature...Β that direction would've worked better for me.

they will probably release something when the tour will have already started, so it could be an option. I've never thought about this before.

But I personally have a doubt about this theory: Chris said the band will work on 3 more studio albums. If we assume that we will have MOTS vol2, MOTS vol3 and the famous last self-titled album, either vol 3 will be a studio album (so, not a live one) or there is a studio album missing?

I hope you can get the point, it's more complex to explain than to understandΒ

Anyway, as far as we know, any theory could be possible at the moment?

Remember that Coldplay consider LeftRightLeftRightLeft an actual album, and I believe they see Sao Paolo in that wayΒ as well.

This comment made me think to another theory ahahah

Imagine if they decided to perform the new songs which are supposed to be in vol 3 during the tour and to record them only as live versions (like what they did withΒ Moses for example).Β  The outcome would be an entire live albumΒ with new songs... I mean, I perfectly know this would be crazy and there are less than zero chances for this to happen, but reading the previous comments this idea poppedΒ into my mind and I couldn't help but sharing this thought ahah

The fact that they released Magic as a single and not only was there no backlash but itΒ charted at #14 on the Hot 100 tells me nothing they could do wouldΒ be suicide. They put out just about the most soulless song I've ever heard and made $$$.

Maybe it wouldn't beΒ suicide, but they'd probablyΒ kill off a good chunk of their fan base if they continued with more of MOTS1.

If MOTS1 killed part of their fanbase, I guess they must have killed even more with Mylo Xyloto, Ghost Stories, A Head Full Of Dreams and Kaleidoscope...

I'll be disappointed if one of the MOTS volumes is a live album and right now I don't think one will be.Β Vol. 1 is definitely my least favorite Coldplay album and kind of pushed me away from listening to Coldplay over the past few months,Β  but I'm hopeful they can do better.

AΒ lot of artists right now have been putting out albums back-to-back far more quickly than the traditional 3-4 year album cycle. We know Chris is a song-writing machine and recent AHFOD demo leaks reveal there's great songs that could still be revisited by the band. I think it's totally possible that Vol. 2 is a very alternative record (think more songs like Coloratura) and that Vol. 3 in a couple years could return to pop and collabs. This would please critics and fans and appeal to everyone over a 2-3 year period. If MOTS era is just Vol. 1, an EP and some live stuff, I'm really not gonna like it.

If they were going to do that alternative record, wouldn't it make more sense to release it with a different name and visual theme?Β

Yes! You guys aren't newbies lol. I upgraded the server which ended up causing a load of problems with the database. It took the past few days to fix, and when I upgraded the forum software, I left it there because I'm exhausted lol. Expect them to revert back to normal soon!
