Hello everyone! I'm new to this board and first of all want to say hi to everyone! So anyway, I'm thinking of flying to New York to see the show in East Rutherford, NJ and maybe also the one in DC. When I was looking for tickets I noticed that there are no standing tickets?! All the shows in the US, at least the ones on the east coast don't seem to have standing...Am I right about that? I mean, what the heck, sitting at a Coldplay doesn't really sound like a lot of fun. And I don't understand it, the shows in Europe have standing...So, what's the deal with that? Thank you for your answers! Jonathan

I didn't know where to post this, so I'll just start a thread... So, I went to see Coldplay on July 19th in Las Vegas. I flew from San Diego just to see them, and I took my favorite book, The Catcher in the Rye, with me on the plane. I have this weird emotional attachment to this book, and never leave my home without it in my purse...so it's old and falling apart. Anyways, concert was amazing, best night of my life, and of course I got a butterfly! I put the butterfly inside the cover of my book, along with my Coldplay ticket, a picture of Guy, ;) and a couple other pics I cut out from a magazine in my Vegas hotel. On my way back to San Diego, I took the bo…

OK, I have managed to secure front row seats to see the mighty coldplay at Birmingham in December. I have never got front row seats before and have a question. If another fan gets in front of me - am I within my rights to tell to move out my way. The way I see it is if you have front row seats no-one shoud be in front of you. I know fans from other rows like to push in and get close to the railing to get the best view. If someone does this to me I will politely ask them to move. If this does not work I will inform security - if this does not work - I will beat a fellow coldplay fan up. Totally against violence but I had to que overnight to get these tickets and…

Couldn't find another thread about this - apologies if I've missed it and this has already been covered Just wondered if anyone had recieved a phonecall yet to say they've won a pair of tickets? There are only 90 pairs on offer, so I guess the odds are pretty slim. I've not heard anything yet Hears hoping :)

Hi my name is Angie and I have a Jonny addiction. :P I scheduled some vacation time to go to Toronto but the shows were moved, so now I have time off and Jonny is coming to your towns. :D I would like to go to 2 of these shows. But which 2? DC looks to be a go as it is in between the other 2. So should I try for Boston/DC or DC/ Philly combo? I need some tips on hotels, best way to get around in that city (cabs, subway etc) and just why I should choose your town. DC/ Philly has the added advantage of different on sale dates. Help me and I'll buy you a beer or something at the show.

I need your opinion on this... Comparing the volume of their recent shows (Viva La Vida tour) to the last tour (Twisted Logic tour), was it just me or were the Twisted Logic shows impressively louder? It could depend on the venue of course. But generally speaking, there was a massive difference. As soon as Life In Technicolor kicks in, it's obviously lower in volume than expected (personally) and lower than their previous tours. Did you notice this as well? Any reason why? Was it differend in your city? Maybe I was just expecting my heart to be pounded out of my chest by the bass like the first time I saw Coldplay. Maybe not...

The tour shirt has Anaheim, CA listed in between Salt Lake City and Phoenix... however, there has been no released date out yet. WHat are your thoughts on this? Is it possible that a show is in the works and they are working out a date, and are waiting to announce it? I would love to see them here again in southern california. Since the LA Forum show I've thought of nothing but how incredibly awesome it was and how I need to see them again. Hopefully up closer.

With a lot of AWESOME music festivals between europe and u.s. the band has played only to a mediocre festival like the one in Pemberton. Do you think it's a coldplay's choice ?

Why not Death, Yes, and Cemeteries? I am hoping that they are not playing these songs as perhaps these songs are more difficult to nail live without the full production including extra musicians. Nevertheless, the absence of these songs is quite conspicuous among the early performances. I hope these don't turn into songs like Spies, Sparks, See You Soon, etc. which are great live, but the band completely neglects (how can you neglect your own greatness?). Side question. I have never heard of the band playing I Ran Away or Murder live. Anyone know of them playing these two songs live? Each time I hear these songs, I think, "whoah, this would sound terrific live!…

Not sure how many people in toronto know this, but there was a contest earlier today (Wednesday) for anyone who wants to check out Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland being interviewed by Bookie (not sure if there is going to be an acoustic set). I was wondering how many people have entered and won? Luckily I entered so I get a chance to finally see Chris and Jonny up close, maybe i'll be lucky enough to get a picture, too. Is there anyone else going?

just heard an interesting little blurb on XM radio from Chris where he says they weren't ready to go ahead with the tour and instead went back to England where he worked out to get into better shape (lost 12lbs) and did some vocal training as well. Dunno if this is old news or not but I found it rather amusing...

August 3, 2008 11:03 am Coldplay.com caught up with Jonny before the second Toronto show Hi Jonny, how are you? I'm good, thanks. How's the tour going? Really well actually. From it starting at Madison Square Garden - well I suppose that wasn't really a start so so much as a false start - it's gone really well. The shows have been getting better and better, I think. I hope so, anyway. Does that tend to happen? Yeah. But we didn't start from quite as bad a place as we have done in the past. Normally it takes us about 25 shows to get anywhere near good. But I feel like this time we've started a bit better than we usually do. It sounds like the show has c…
