I am a HUGE Coldplay fan, as I know many of you are. I have seen the X&Y show 4 times, once at the Garden, once in Raleigh Durham, and twice at Nassau Coliseum. I am so excited to see the Viva La Vida tour in DC this weekend. But I had an awful STUBHUB experience that I would like to share with all serious ticket buyers for Coldplay. I bought two high priced tickets ($1900) for 4th row center back in March on STUBHUB. The tickets were confirmed by STUBHUB in March, reconfirmed last week and then cancelled yesterday. Either the tickets were sold to a higher bidder or the seller was not legitimate. The company does not own any comparable tickets at this late dat…

Anyone else notice the conspicuous absence of Cemeteries of London from the VLV tour? Any guesses why this the only song off the new album they have avoided playing live?

Thanks to google, I have discovered a pile of NME reviews of old Coldplay shows. I’ve been adding them to http://www.WikiColdplay.com. As Israeli city Tel Aviv gears up to its 100th anniversary in 2009, Jewtastic can reveal that local government bosses have set their sights on Duran Duran to perform a headlining concert as well as applying for permission to use the group’s instrumental song Tel Aviv as a theme for the city. According to a Tel Aviv Municipality city insider, Duran Duran have emerged as the top act for a celebrate Tel Aviv concert being planned in 2009. “We have been thinking about Duran Duran for a number of years and with 2009 being the 100th anniversatry of Tel Aviv, now is the right time to get them here,” the insider told Jewtastic. “We are also looking at a song for the city an…

I saw Coldplay last night in Toronto. My big question: who is playing the keyboard parts on Viva La Vida and Lovers In Japan. Certainly not Chris... he's usually jumping around far away from any instruments. This made me pay attention more carefully to other songs... and most have a keyboard part in them, definately not played by Chris. Clocks for example. His hand are up in the air during the "confusion never stops, closing walls and ticking clocks" part. Do they have another person backstage, or do they play along with pre-recorded tracks? The guitar solo on "Yes" was too absolutely note-for-note perfect, which makes me think they have a lot of pre-recorded st…

Back in May I bought a ticket to their show in Hartford CT but I was so excited and in such a rush to get a good spot that I accidently bought 1 ticket so...now it seems I'm gonna be going solo. This will be my first time seeing them live and I'm a little worried I won't enjoy it as much alone. Anyone ever been to one of their shows alone and had it effect the experience? No matter what I'm sure I'll have a great time but I'm just wondering. EDIT: So the concert in my state was tonight (August 2)...and looking back, I really feel silly that I even worried about something stupid like going alone. I had a blast! With the huge crowd and all the excitement, I didn't even…

Act like you belong there, for a start. If you mumble between songs like you're embarrassed to be on stage, I will throw my £6 burger at you. A couple of years ago, Chris Martin said something that actually made sense. Coldplay had just finished a series of British stadium shows and Martin admitted he didn't believe his group performed well in such settings, vowing to never to play them again. From that point on, the roof of an indoor arena would be Coldplay's limit. It might be the fact that I'm getting older, but I've reached the stage where I don't automatically despise bands popular enough to ply their trade in a football ground. But what I do expect from a gig …

I have found this quite fun on some other forums, always interesting to see what other people would choose, and what you would choose too. Some rules to keep things simple: - Limited to 20 songs (including encore) - Can include songs from any era, or any covers you'd like to see them do Good luck! My setlist (obviously subject to change... a lot :p) White Shadows (with extended stringy intro) Cemetries of London Politik What If Lovers In Japan Trouble Don't Panic A Rush of Blood to the Head A Message See You Soon Shiver Lost! Viva La Vida Clocks Yes Violet Hill The Scientist 42 Encore: Green Eyes Death and All of His Friends …

It seems like an obvious answer to me, considering I absolutely loved the butterfly confetti during Lovers in Japan at last Friday's concert, but I've spoken to a few people who really disliked it. What do you think? Was it the best part of the show? Was it a waste of paper? Was it too "Hannah Montana-esque", and not really "Coldplay-esque" [according to one article]? Opinions, opinions! :D

I was reading some of the posts that said a lot of the audience didnt stand or know the words to the songs. And that some of the venues were too big. Do many of you feel this is true.I just feel so bad when I hear this because they put their all into the concerts and I hope they know people appreciate them I heard Chris in a n interview the other day,and he was saying that he wants fans to say they like their work the same way, if a woman put on a new dress she would want her husband to say he likes it.

Got an email from ticketmaster claiming that all the glasgow show tickets had to be recalled because they used the wrong ticket stock or something. Would hate to part with my ticket in case anything goes wrong or it isn't a legit email from ticketmaster. Any other scottish fan had this email?

Does anyone else think that page, it says lovers in japan, looks like possible clips from a music video maybe? I'll try to post a pic shortly, but it looks like the band playing in a courtyard, and then it has pictures of various angles with the butterfly confetti! Do you guys think Lovers in Japan could be the next video released?

I don't know if this is in the right section, if it's not then could a moderator please move it to the right one? But I was wondering what the best Coldplay performance you have ever seen was. It could be live or on a video/DVD. When you say it, state specifically which part of the concert, like a song. If the whole thing was great, then just say the title of the concert, the city, and year. I know mine was How We Saw The World 2006 in Toronto when they played Clocks. That just amazed me, and I'm addicted to the video. I could upload it in the Coldplay Multimedia section if enough people wanted me to. It's in .mov format right now, so just say the format you'd want it in …

I don't want to start a negative flamethrowing spamming thread here so please stay away if that's all you've got. However, what's up with the Boston open for Coldplay contest? I mean it really is difficult not to jump to the conclusion that the thing is rigged. 1. First they announce the TOP 3 bands on the radio after taking probably 24 hours to do so rather than posting them right away. 2. 3 days later they suddenly ADD TWO BANDS to the list in defiance of the previously posted rules and post on the website the TOP 5 bands saying that because the voting was close (it was not) that they were going to now have TOP 5 instead of TOP 3. (Why doesn't Capitol admit they…

In the newest Billboard article confirming Coldplay's #1 (!!!), it also says that Santogold will open the North American tour: http://www.myspace.com/santogold I personally am not a fan at all. I don't really think this is Coldplay style, but then again, you know Chris! :laugh4: I have a feeling this could end up possibly worse than Black Mountain though, actually. Bring back Richard Ashcroft!

David Campbell, head of the O2 stadium in London, has turned an embarrassing white elephant into a world-class arena, writes Richard Wachman A down-to-earth and perhaps unlikely impresario, Glasgow-born David Campbell finds it hard to switch off from his job as head of the O2, the rebranded London entertainment centre, once known - a lifetime ago, it seems - as the much-pilloried Millennium Dome. To the surprise of pundits, the O2, sponsored by the mobile phone company of the same name at an annual cost of £6m, has become the most popular venue in the world for live music. In the first six months of this year, ticket sales were at 853,000, 30 per cent better than ru…

Does anyone have any advice or a considered point of view on someone who is heavily pregnant going along to a Coldplay gig? I've often seen such ladies at concerts, even festivals like Glastonbury, but until now it's not something I've had to consider as something that might affect me one day.
