Source Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree and comedian David Walliams are among Camden stars to donate items to a celebrity car boot sale to raise funds for Syrian refugees. Hampstead art gallery Zebra One, in Perrin’s Court, has also donated artwork to the event including images of Kylie Minogue, by Phil Knott, and work by celebrity street artist Dom Pattinson. The Star Boot Sale 2016 will also feature signed books and photos from comedian and actor Stephen Fry, a lampshade donated by TV presenters Ant and Dec and an antique gramophone donated by Coldplay. The event, to be attended by many of the stars who have donated items, will take place…

I've always been interested in this recurring theme in Coldplay songs. I decided to put together a list of how prominent it really is. I came up with Birds, up & up- HFOD O- Ghost Stories Up with the Birds- Mylo Xyloto Now my feet won't touch the ground- Prospekt's March Speed of Sound-X&Y Strawberry Swing- Viva la Vida For You- Shiver EP No More Keeping My Feet on the Ground- Yellow EP Can you coldplayers think of any others, or give a reason why one of these don't really apply to this list. Anyone know if in the past they have explained their affection for birds and the thought of flying.

Elton John, One Direction Among Most Charitable U.K. Musicians: Report 4/19/2016 by Lars Brandle Elton John performs on Jan. 13, 2016 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. LARRY BUSACCA/GETTY IMAGES FOR ISLAND RECORDS Elton John has another No. 1: he’s topped a list of the most generous celebrities in the U.K. The "Rocket Man" handed out £26.8 million ($38 million) to charitable causes in 2015, according to the "Sunday Times Giving List," with much of that goodwill benefiting Aids foundations on both sides of the Atlantic. John was well ahead of the second-place-getter, Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who donated £10.3 million ($14.7 million) to her two charities, …

Singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas is Coldplay’s main support for the Latin American and European legs of #AHFODtour. [Coldplay] called her up the morning after her first show with the band, in Buenos Aires. Hello Lianne, how are you? I’m very well, thank you. So, how was the first night of the tour? It was amazing. So amazing. Yesterday felt like the first time of everything. I’ve never played in South America. I’ve never supported Coldplay. I’ve never played in a stadium before. And it was so, so electric. That’s great! I know! We could have ended up using all that adrenaline wrongly, or something. But my band and I were all equally excited to do it and f…

I haven't been keeping up with Coldplay since the release of AHFOD, but I was wondering what is next for Coldplay? They said they didn't want to be a "rock" band anymore, but it would be really sweet if Chris Martin could do a solo album. His ear for melodies is phenomenal and I would die for him to do a little acoustic/piano solo album. Anyone think this would be possible in the future at anytime?

BUENOS AIRES. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has confirmed the song “Amazing Day” to be released as the fourth and final single from the band’s latest album A Head Full of Dreams. In an interview with a local radio station, the singer stated that the song was to be released to South and North American radio stations in early May. “We are excited to be on tour again after such a long time, and we think that Amazing Day truly captures the spirit of this tour and the state of mind we are currently in. So yeah, the choice came natural to us”, explained Martin wide-eyed and with visible joy. Questioned what he personally considers as an amazing day, he said “I’m so grateful fo…

They say that music is an international language of emotion and within emotion is experience. Coldplay has different messages in it's songs, ideas ranging from love to loss to acceptance to heartbreak and so on. What is it that makes you so connected to Coldplay? We are fans for a reason, we love their music. Their music has meaning to us. What is Coldplay's meaning to you? What does their music mean to you?

I don't usually make threads, so I guess this is a start. There are other Coldplay theory threads existing, but I can't seem to find them, so I might as well revive the ideas here. I was thinking about a missing link between VLVODAAHF and MX. I had realized something interesting about the storylines in both albums, particularly in Viva La Vida and Major Minus. In Viva La Vida there is a king who has just lost his empire. The king looks back in his old life, desiring that power that he had lost. He is being pursued by revolutionaries that "want his head on a silver plate". (It seems to be referring to the French Revolution but it goes deeper than that). So after the k…

Seems like the trailer for X-Men : Apocalypse has remixed Coldplay's Don't Panic http://klli.cbslocal.com/2016/03/17/x-men-apocalypse-trailer-remixes-coldplays-dont-panic/ Those of us who enjoyed Coldplay‘s “Don’t Panic” back in the early 2000s might not have foreseen the day when it would feature in an ominous, apocalyptic movie trailer. That day has come! The trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse hinges on a dramatic remix of the song for maximum blockbuster effect. Remember Beyoncé’s vamped-up version of “Crazy In Love” from the 50 Shades of Grey trailer? It’s like that. The trailer also features Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and the other X-Men battling for…

Since St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow we should organize a mass-listening party. We should see how many people we can get to listen to Coldplay's Green Eyes at the exact same time. I wonder how many would listen and then as soon as the song is done, reply to the thread. Dumb? Possibly. But may be fun. Who knows.:dance::dance::dance:

Sorry if this has been discussed before, as I did a forum search and not much came up, but what are currently your 3 or even 4 personal favorite Coldplay songs so far and please say why (in at least a couple sentences for each song named), as in for the writing, the theme of the song, the song's melody, Chris's vocal work in the song, or a combo of all of these factors, for each mentioned song. If a fave song named is a remix you reckon is better than the original, name it anyway. Yes I know there's a 'What's Your Fave Coldplay song today?' thread, but respondents to it haven't given why reasons.
