I'm a forward-thinking person so I'm planning ways to meet the band now before they come to town again. Share your stories of how to bribed, lied and cheated your way to meet the greatest band of all time.

  2. Does anyone know how much Coldplay got paid to sign a 5 record deal with Parlophone? I've always been very curious.

  5. 15:43: Hello! Yes, we begin a second day of live photoblogging, ahead of Coldplay's show in Norwich tonight. We'll start with a picture taken at last night's in Madrid which we didn't post yet. This shows the band coming off stage after Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall provided a mighty climax to a thrilling show.

  7. In Defense Of Coldplay: Understanding And Refuting The Deep, Smoldering Hatred For A Band That Is Totally Fine First, the obvious question: Why would a band that has sold a reported 50 million albums, won seven Grammys, and married a Paltrow even need a defense? While Coldplay may rule the Minivan Dominion with a falsetto fist, in other circles, merely mention the band's name inspires sneering and vitriol. Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin once explained away the animosity toward his band by saying, "Maybe we're too feminine for the masculine and too masculine for the feminine." In an article succinctly titled "The Case Against Coldplay" Jon Pareles, of the New Y…

  8. Since Mylo Xyloto did a 180 from initially an acoustic record to arguably their poppiest album to date and with mixed reviews (ala X&Y), do you think LP6 will be more of an acoustic record? Personally, I think it might be. Since A Rush of Blood To The Head was followed by X&Y and it wasn't as well received, they re-invented themselves just enough with Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends to win over critics. Well, now they are following that success with Mylo Xyloto and it's getting a mixed response, it almost feels like a repeat of the AROBTTH to X&Y period. So I think the next album may be what MX was intially going to be like.

  9. Why I can’t hate Coldplay anymore The world's biggest band is an overwrought bore -- and so charmingly self-effacing that it's no fun to despise them This past June, in front of tens of thousands of fans at Britain’s annual Glastonbury Festival, Chris Martin balked. About halfway into a new song titled “Us Against the World,” the Coldplay frontman abruptly stopped singing or playing his guitar. “Will, can you do that verse again?” he asked drummer Will Champion with a broad grin. “I fucked that one up … We’re supposed to be professional headliners.” Luckily, they’re supposed to be the sort of professional headliners who also connect with listeners on a human level.…

  10. By William Goodman on October 28, 2011 3:04 PM On the morning of Saturday, October 15, Chris Martin went for a jog. He left the West Village apartment where he lives part-time (between his native London) with his wife of nearly eight years, Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and their two children, Apple, 7, and Moses, 5, and headed downtown. He ran past Wall Street, then up Broadway to Zuccotti Park, the epicenter of the Occupy Wall Street movement. There, as rallies against corporate greed raged in more than 900 cities, from Auckland to São Paulo to Berlin, he watched as thousands of protesters marched past police in riot gear toward Times Square. Some pla…

  12. I know I can't be, but sometimes it feels like even in the positive reviews of Coldplay's stuff, there's always criticism of Chris Martin's lyrics. People say they're cliched, simplistic, sappy, all sorts of things. I myself quite like them. They're not the greatest ever, of course, but they fit the songs perfectly, and they're just right for singing along. They've got a simplicity that's kind of charmingly over-the-top, rather than annoyingly cliched. That's the way I feel about them, at least, and I just want to know if anyone agrees.

  13. ...... 10 000 000 Congratulations to Coldplay :D. It's quite a lot, isn't it? http://Www.facebook.com/coldplay Also they should try to update this : Biografía Coldplay have been a band since January 16th 1998, when we lost a demotape competition on XFM in London. Our type of music is very heavy soft rock. We've just released our fourth album: Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends

After seeing them rehearse at the ellen show wearing normal clothes, wouldn't you just love seeing them perform actually wearing normal clothes? Because I think the clothes that Guy wears during normal shows are really awful, as well as all of their shoes. So my point is they just look so much better wearing normal clothes. In case you haven't seen that rehearsal yet: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htKAYiMG-RM&feature=channel_video_title]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htKAYiMG-RM&feature=channel_video_title[/ame]

Who do you know that hate Coldplay. I was listening to Steve Lamaqs round table last night and that crap lefty 'comedian' Mark Thomas was spouting his mouth off about how Coldplay 'fills him with revulsion'. He's obviously just full of resentment towards the middle class and wants to exercise his rightous lefty anger by hating on Coldplay. Basically he's just a massive reverse snob. I hate the guy. Who else hates Coldplay? Let's make a Coldplay enemies list like Richard Nixon had for his enemies then send some men round to wiretap them and burgalrize their offices so we can get some dirt on them:laugh3:

  18. I know I don’t like Coldplay, but I can’t seem to remember why. When “Yellow”, the band’s first big hit, came out in 2000, it quickly became my favorite song to ridicule. It was too sweet, too comforting. It felt like the soundtrack to a car commercial — the kind that features slumbering children and plays up the quality of the vehicle’s airbags. Subsequent Coldplay releases, full of lush melodies and Chris Martin’s relentless need to sing his feelings, only added fuel to my derisive fire. So I’ve spent the past decade purposefully avoiding them. I don’t listen to their albums. If their songs come on the radio, I change the station. At this point, I can’t remember if I…

  20. Chris Martin joins The Bert Show for an interview to promote his upcoming album, Mylo Xyloto…and hangs up on us! The cast isn’t really sure what set him off that made him hang up, but then he called back and asked to speak to whoever asked the last question. Ooooooh, Bert’s in trouble… Audio at: http://thebertshow.com/coldplays-chris-martin-joins-the-bert-show-and-then-hangs-up-on-us/ Oh Chris...you were doing so well :shame:
