Anybody know it's called 42?

The answer is:
That Chris has a rule that when they are in the studio recording a song they can not go over 42 minutes in the studio.
However, with the song "42" they took over "42" minutes recording this song and so they named it xD

Yah, Chris Martin is a big Hitchhiker's Guide fan, as well as all the other reasons. Also, this song is about thinking deeply about very philosophical questions. "Those who are dead...they're just living in my head." "You didn't get to heaven but you made it close." and 42 is the Answer to the great Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

On topic: I think 42 has something to do with "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series as some of you wrote. I've not read the books but I've seen the movie (but it was a long time ago) so I know nothing about it. Sounds like a good theory :D
