Ok, this thread probably already exists, but I can't be bothered looking :dozey: (If a mod wants to merge it with another one, that's fine :) ) Based on a tweet I've just seen, what was the first single and first album you ever bought? My first single (7inch vinyl because I'm old!) As I was reading through Alexa's thread about emotional attachment to music you don't listen to anymore, I was actually reminded of something different. My ex-best friend became my best friend through a specific artist, and due to a lot of things, we pretty much don't talk to each other anymore. We aren't friends of any sort. Because of that, it's hard for me to listen to them, and I haven't in a long time. Has this sort of thing ever happened to you? Have you ever had music-a song, an album, an artist-that reminded you of someone else, but had that relationship fall apart, causing you to not want to listen to it anymore?

She's the Best British Female and a diva to boot. But has she cleaned up her act? Oh no, no, no! Published: 18 February 2007 Her behaviour was nothing less than shocking at the Brit Awards. Everyone agreed, she let the side down pretty badly. Tchuh. You think you know people, think you can trust them to turn in a reliable performance - and they go and ruin it. Amy Winehouse just flatly refused to get drunk, swear, vomit, smoke a joint or storm out. Not once did she tell the writhing popinjay Russell Brand to eff off with his smart remarks about her incipient alcoholism. She sang "Rehab" with a sweet uncertainty, hitching up her red frock to mid-thigh level, but de…

for a guy who knows like, absolutely 0 about contemporary music (just as in, he doesn't listen to it) and I'm freaking out so hard trying to figure out which like 12 artists I should pick, this is so hard all that I'm SURE is going on is Haiti by Arcade Fire and one Radiohead song but I haven't even decided which yet :freak: what artists do you all think are like, 100% necessary to go on as an introductory-type mixtape? I am trusting WOM-ers to pull through for me here because we all have almost the same taste except for Eddie who listens to rap.

Get-well wishes pouring in for E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons [/url] June 15, 2011 | 2:06 pm The family of E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons has set up an email address for anyone wishing to send messages to Clemons in the wake of the massive stroke he suffered over the weekend at his home in Florida. Additionally, Bruce Springsteen posted his first message to fans about Clemons’ condition, describing the stroke as “serious.” “While all initial signs are encouraging, Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again,” Springsteen wrote on his website, Twi…

Really surprised this guy doesn't have a thread. He's from Israel, and currently has one album (working on a second one currently, I believe), and also had a song featured on the Narnia: Prince Caspian soundtrack. He has some truly brilliant acoustic/indie folk songs that I think some of you might like :) Some of my personal favourites: [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] Brilliant stuff :)

For me it's Andrew Bird. WTF @ all his lyrics, they're all beautiful and poetic and evocative and stuff but I try to make sense of them when I listen and it's just impossible. None of them are understandable to me. it makes me sad sometimes. But he's still awesome omg~~

Hi there! I am a huge Coldplay fan and I love doing music! I formed a band called "PREY" about 2 years ago. The last few weeks we recorded some videos in our rehearsal room. Some of the videos have already been posted and some of them are going to be online in a few days/weeks. now I would like to know what you coldplayers think of the music we make. :) I am looking forward to hearing of what you think (even if it is not so good) ;) I am sorry for my bad English :D moogle YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/PREYchannel http://www.myspace.com/musicprey http://www.facebook.com/musicprey

How are people still feeling about their end of year lists for 2010. Is Kanye still the most amazing thing you have ever heard? Does Team Dream still rate as one of the most beautiful things from last year? What albums have gotten better since then, what one have failed to hold onto whatever made them special six months ago? Are there any albums that you still haven't got around to listening to yet? Discuss.

Pete Doherty with his friend and fellow addict Pete Wolfe. Photograph: Andrew Kendall (http://www.andrewkendall.com) Film-maker Robin Whitehead. Photograph: Family Handout/PA In 2008, Jake Fior received a phone call from a woman he didn't know. "Her voice was a sort of husky velvet," says Fior. "She said her name was Robin Whitehead and she wanted to speak to me as she was making a film about Pete Doherty. I said, 'Oh dear, that's bad luck.' She laughed, and it started from there." Fior hadn't been joking. The musician and bookseller, now 47, had known the Libertines' singer since 2001. Fior had rewritten and produced Doherty's first top 10 hit, "For Lovers", b…
