Aaaaw :wacky: That pic of you and Tash hugging is just precious! You girls are amazing. Can't wait to see you soon

Love, love, love the sign! :awesome:

Glad to know you had a good time, Anna! Very nice review!!

As was to be expected, they no longer cleared out the front area yesterday. Too bad they only realised their mistake a day too late... .

There was a girl with a dark green Coldplay t-shirt with some of the lyrics to Square One on the back who was right up at the front of the queue for the left pit. She had blue eyes & brown hair. Does anyone know her, or if she's on here?

Hi! ;)

Some random thoughts I didn't include in my previous review:

- I thought the Yellow version they played on the previous tour was already a big improvement over the rather lame one they did on the X&Y tour. But this new version has got to be the best one yet! Seems to be played a bit faster and with a more prominent guitar.

- Talking about guitars, Jonny also plays some of the older songs on a Stratocaster. And in general, his guitar sounds bigger than it ever did before.

- Only one X&Y song. And even though I still like the album, I couldn't find another X&Y song that would fit in this setlist.

- That Back To The Future theme song works great as an opener. Didn't someone on here take a pic of Chris with a Back To The Future shirt on outside the studio's?

- How cool are those lasers?

- Chris always seems to forget the same lines during Politik.

- Poor Bauk. I know how big a fan she is. If anyone deserved to be up front, it would be her. I saw her being taken out of the crowd from a distance and I was shocked.

- They should put a huge stage with Coldplay on it behind the 100 meter track at the Olympics. I'm sure Esther (2GreenEyes) would be able to easily beat Usain Bolt.

- Marjan/Marianne (?) has got an awesome Coldplay related tattoo.

- Anna could either be 19 or 31. Security wasn't quite sure.

So I finally made it behind my computer, time to write my review!

Me and 3 friends arrived at the parking at noon, had quite a walk to go. That walk was quite an adventure: we walked past 3 campings all complete chaos. Lucky we were only here for a day!

At a certain point during the walk we had to go through a tunnel! :shocked2: Yikes! Not sure if many people of you remember the Love Parade incident last year, but we did't like the idea going through a very busy tunnel, but no other choice. Glad everything went fine!

Arrived at the festival entrance at 1:30 pm, I left my friends behind to go to the front. I even ask a security guy if they will clear out the front after each band. He said no, me very happy coz I was a front row. After The Staat me not very happy anymore :( So I left the front, lucky that my friends just came to check up on me and I took a tour with them around the field.

I enjoyed an ice cream, a trip to the toilets and watched a bit of the Manic Street Preachers and Lifehouse.

At 5:30 I decided to get back to the front and queue up for the front row. Got there right on time coz a few minutes later a whole mob of Coldplay fans arrived and blocked the entire entrance for Elbow fans.

It was a real shame we had to watch Elbow from a distance, couldn't enjoy their performance because we were all crammed together for over 2 hours. Got the chance to meet some Coldplayers then so that was great! :nice:

Lucky I made it to the front row after all and patiently waited for Coldplay to start.

I hear the Back To The Furute song everyday (it's my bfs ringtone) and hearing it through those speakers was awesome and a great start.

The people at the front are all really into it and enjoy every song. I didn't take many pics coz I'd rather dance and sing. My fave songs are Politik and Fix you, and they didn't disappoint!

Seeing Chris mess up a few times was funny! And his little 'booty' dance before Us Against The World was hilarious :D

Was so happy when they played Trouble, one of my fave songs :)

I loved all the new songs, especially Charlie brown. And ETIAW is really the perfect end to the show. You can say what you want about it, but you just can't stand still!

Chris' singing seemed very good to me, he was very energetic and cheerfull as always.

After all a very good show and I can't wait to see them again at Werchter!

Afterwards I asked my friends what they thought, so here the opinion of some none-Coldplayers:

- loved the show, good mix of calm and up-tempo songs

- the music was way too quiet :( They could barely hear the singing during the calmer songs and could here themselves sing along instead! Maybe that's why the crowd wasn't that into it...

- they loved the fireworks and the start and the confetti. Also wondered where all the balloons came from :p

- I asked what they thought of the new songs, but they couldn't really give an opinion coz the sound was so bad :(

- they compared Werchter to Pinkpop and they all thought Werchter was way better except for one thing: Pinkpop has the better toilets! Cheers!!

So then all there's left was a 45 mins walk back to the parking and another 45 mins trying to find our car.... I was a happy girl when I arrived back home :D Werchter here I come!

- Poor Bauk. I know how big a fan she is. If anyone deserved to be up front, it would be her. I saw her being taken out of the crowd from a distance and I was shocked.

Thanks Mathieu! :) It's a shame we didn't meet, maybe next time!

does anyone know why they dont play "Talk" no more at those concerts ?!:(:(:(

Long time ago i heart it at a concert...may they dont like to play that live ? its such an awesome song for a live event in my opinion....

Hi! ;)

Ah, that was you! Before Elbow started, I was considering asking you whether you were on the forum, but I wasn't sure if I should :) I was sitting next to you in the grass in front of the gates reading a book, maybe you'll remember that?

I'm really, really sorry for you that you had to be taken out, I didn't realize it was you at the time. I know you'd had been waiting the longest in front of the gates by far, and you'd really deserved to be front & center. I hope you get your chance when they (hopefully) come to the Netherlands again!

Lovely reviews everyone

Esther: Thanks for holding the banner with me and being such a nice person!

Hope to see all of you again soon.

Anna!! Lovely review, and great pictures! Brings it all back to me! And I so agree with you on, well everything  I really hope we'll see a high def version of UATW soon, I need to see Chris doing the booty dance again

And I loved your banner, so it was a privilege holding it :nice: And Jonny also saw it somewhere at the start and he looked at it and smiled

I also want to say a massive thank you to all the girls (and mathieu  ) for spending the day together, it wouldn't have been the same without you! And I loved meeting all of you and being able to be a crazy Coldplay fangirl with all of you!

Love you all! And hope to see you soon! :D

They should put a huge stage with Coldplay on it behind the 100 meter track at the Olympics. I'm sure Esther (2GreenEyes) would be able to easily beat Usain Bolt.

I so would   haha

And I also would like to say I'm very sorry for Bauk! I know you've been waiting there for so long, and you deserved to be at the front, but you'll make up when they tour here again! I'll see you then at the front ;)

Thanks everyone :)

@ Ireentje: yes, i remember a girl reading a book, I was thinking: that's a clever way to pass the time!

Thanks everyone :)

I reaaally wasn't interested in seeing Lifehouse play, and I'd originally brought the book to keep my ticket in :P

Does Chris throw his guitar at the end of God Put A Smile? The video makes it look like he does and that it hits a roadie and Chris is like "...o crap! sorry!" haha!

Oooooh what I forgot!

I really hope we'll find a youtube video of Chris's little speech saying thanks to the audience.

He ended it with "Lots of kisses and love" He was laughing at his own words, he sounded like a teenager in love.

Good morning! (well, feels like morning to me still)

- Yes, that fast version of Yellow is awesome but it's not so much different from the late-Viva-version to me. :uhoh:

- I know!! He's awesome. :bomb: It all sounds a bit "harder" now and I certainly can't complain about that. :awesome:

- I love X&Y but I think the setlist is ok for the festivals. And when I drove back "Talk" came on the radio, I put the speakers on full volume and that was alright, too.

- There are several pics of Chris with several BTTF shirts! I have one myself from LastExitShirts. :wacky:

They make shirts who are not really obviously movie related. Like in the one below: Marty goes to Hill Valley High School so they designed a logo of his school.

I grew up with the movies and love them so so so much. Can't blame Chris at all for being a fan of the movies and including it into his "workplace". :laugh4:

Here's my silly photoshop edit :P

IloveEditingPics.jpg

And here's the other shirt:

- Yes, the lasers are really cool! It looked like there was a ceiling sometimes and Chris trying to reach it haha

If it would've been darker already it would've been even more perfect...

- It wouldn't be a Coldplay concert if Chris didn't fuck up at least once!!

Still remember my rage about him interrupting THP in Wembley. :snobby:

- Agreed re: Bauk, Esther and Marianne!

- Those were some chatty and nice security blokes!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Jan's idea to scare the shit out of us with that cleaning vehicle.

I really hope we'll see a high def version of UATW soon, I need to see Chris doing the booty dance again

Yes!!! I wanna see that little dance again, too!

Really? Cool, I couldn't see Jonny most of the time. :disappointed: But boy could I hear him! :awesome:

Thanks everyone :)
Big  again, I'll reply to your message later!

Thanks for your lovely reviews, pictures and for posting videos here.

@ ANNA / SueDeNimes:

- Thanks for yet another awesome review with pictures.

- I really love the sign and I understand that Jonny saw it and smiled - GREAT!

- The picture of you and Natascha hugging through the fence is AWESOME.

- I am glad that the security let you keep your banana. :)

I am very pleased that you all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the Coldplay concert including the new songs.

"I wanna shake my booty" - crap quality but it's a start!
