Maybe every day it’s one hour later. :no_mouth:

Funny, that crossed my mind too :joy: but then somehow I doubt it is all worked out that carefully. 10 am BST for a first teaser looked rather random and had no relation to sun/moon or anything

EDIT: On the other hand, that would make it 4 pm BST next Fridsy, an ideal single time. Hmmm

I think it may be they don't release anything before November 22. It's a Friday.

Btw, it may not be completely new material but some songs rearranged.

In any case it will not be a normal album like the other 7. Chris has said that many times during and after the AHFOD tour.

I still doubt that. Coldplay is a band that doesn't like looking at it's past. They hardly even perform old songs anymore or acknowledge that they exist LOL. They would never release an album of reworkings.

What's possible is they use snippets of lyrics or melodies of older unreleased tracks and re-create new songs with these.

I've read that the opening line in 'Violet Hill' actually comes from a song in the very early days titled 'December'.

Coldplay hasn't confirmed anything yet, so it isn't even sure the album will release on 22 November 2019. :p

A fan on Twitter says that the 15 second snippet is a mix of The Charlie Chaplin's The Circus Prospers intro and MMIX.

Anyone else who is hearing that?

If so, it might be possible that they are rearranging older Coldplay material, perhaps even songs we never have heard before.

And remember the Batman interview?

I submitted the question "Being older, wiser and having a lot of knowledge and experience: if you've got the chance to rewrite 1 song, which one would it be and how would it sound?"

Maybe they liked the idea after all. :D They told us they will be full of surprises.

I wish they had a more diverse setlist that included older album tracks and B-sides as well. During the AHFOD Tour some of us ran this project to get the band to perform I Ran Away:

...but of course nothing happened. The request feature, which was supposed to be for older songs, turned out to be a joke sadly as they mostly chose either In My Place or UATW or Don't Panic lol. But mostly In My Place :D I later learnt they didn't even fulfill Mat Whitecross' wish of performing Careful Where You Stand on the C-stage at one of the shows, and he has been their friend for 20 years, so our project was doomed to fail. I really don't know why they are so averse to performing old songs...

What!? Man that's a bummer. Love this song as well!

Now there is this:

From Natacha's website:

"Natacha Atlas is an internationally-acclaimed artist with one of the world’s most distinctive voices. Long known for synthesising western and middle eastern vocal traditions with mind-blowing dexterity, Natacha’s latest work sees her push vocal and musical boundaries even further by effortlessly weaving jazz traditions into her already unique blend."

I don’t know how to feel about that....

Nor do I.

But I think we are making the mistake of waiting for a normal album with the normal course of events leading up to it. This time it will all be different. They are telling us: 'This time we are looking backwards and will simply rearrange some older songs.'

Btw, Chris this year has been appearing alone on so many events as never before.. Could it be he is heading towards a solo career, though he often said he wouldn't go solo?

.

Well I am simply tired of waiting and guessing Time will show.

Nothing new about Natacha Atlas being involved with this album, I think it's been rumoured for a week this.

Really gonna be interested what all this means but I also hope this is a proper "era" where we get proper clothes, stage designs, etc.!
