Hi guys!!! Last Monday an Italian newspaper published a brief interview with violinist Davide Rossi. I'm Italian and live in Italy, so I promptly went to the newsagent's and bought the paper. In

I so hope you're right. I would love something like that.

Me too! I really hope they do something like that one day. They have so much unreleased material that is just begging to be released. The Butterfly Package artwork would work better for something like that imo.

I would love a rework album! If the reworked version of Lovers in Japan they played during the Everyday Life era is any indication, we would be in for a killer rework album.  Honestly, I found the reworked version of LIJ to be far superior to the version on Viva. Not that the version is bad though, I just liked the other better.

I don't think we'll be getting a reworked album or something similar, I dunno...this would qualify as "from now on we'll only be full of surprises" but would kind of negate Chris' philosophy, which is bringing NEW songs into this world. So far they haven't updated Parachutes and that had its 20th birthday (could surely have added a couple of "bonus" songs). I'm thinking this is something brand new, but from design perspective, it is back to graffitti or something?

Not really sure what it's about but we will know more in a couple of hours!

? Hi guys, I know we expected some update or official announcement about LP9 but unfortunately it was not like that   ... Some time ago I made a design based on the Everyday Life booklet, surely you saw it somewhere else ... but I wanted to add a couple of things and I got this, I hope you like it. ?

Wow that album design cover looks similar to Kid A by Radiohead and this could be the same era from X&Y and AROBTTH

I think it's safe to say teasing, if not a new single/music, will be coming by end of year, based on the Warner CEO's statements, which is very exciting! But given how nothing has been confirmed by the band we truly have not much to go on still other than the Music of the Spheres billboard (assuming that's still LP9).

Also above artist rendition is super Kid A! Assuming music of the spheres is the actual album title, I'll be curious to see if they use the circular black and white graphic... My guess is no just because it's very similar to AHFOD and I expect the album to be a upbeat and colorful.

I'm start to suspect that LP9's delay is due to the "Music of the Spheres" trademark property claim

I still think that whole CEO statement thing is just a big misinterpretation of the first news post that actually had a hyperlink to an older Coldplay related post from 2019... now everyone thinks the Warner CEO explicitly mentioned the band's name to refer to big acts coming back on Q4 and 2021... But I hope I'm wrong tho...

I feel for the next LP they will want to do a bigger tour as they kinda need to, so with Covid that could delay LP9’s release (maybe until mid next year), and in the meantime we might get some reworks of their old songs like LIJ?

What does this mean exactly ? can it be the new content of MOTS or something

Probably, it would not make much sense to make changes now and change it again if they release lp9 in a few months

The UK store was pending already in July. So nothing new here on this topic.

Do you think that the absence of ratino could have something to do with the launch of MOTS?

I don't know if guy or instagram changed it

Random thought I've been mulling over after listening to EL in full a few times this week: One of the reason's I think coldplay has struggled to have the same amount of critical success over the past 5 years is a lack of focus. I love AHFOD, Kaleidoscope EP and EL but all of them are just so unfocused. The genres are all over the place, the themes and lyrics are incredibly generalized.

Go back to MX and GS -- at least a story is being told. Sure, i'd argue those stories are vague and the lyrics are a major step down from earlier Coldplay, but at least there's a theme that's stuck to. The only thing keeping EL from potentially being my fave Coldplay album is it's lack of focus. We jump from somber classical music, to alt-rock lite about loving someone, to a song about systemic racism, to bombs over Syria to best friends of past. I'm a defender of the album but man it's hard to explain what it's about and why.

My hope for LP9 is that thematically, lyrically and musically its tighter and more focused. Perhaps a space theme is the way to go, especially if tells stories about characters from beginning to end, like MX but I'd hope more obvious and poetic.

Remember that Australian interview that in Q4 there were gonna be realises (Warner brand), and that Q4 has already started. So it wouldn’t be strange if we get something new

yeah, the warner guy said q4 2020 or q1 2021

Actually, he said nothing about Coldplay. He only revealed that major acts will come back soon and the magazine assumed that he was talking about Coldplay

I know what you mean, but EL has a theme that it follows: the world and how it feels these times... love, war, racism... the album is like getting on a plane and visit different places on this planet.

A great example for a real scifi themed album is an album called "Dimensionaut" from Sound of Contact. Strong themes, great drums and goosebumps all over. Get a listen to it on Youtube.
