The real question is: when do you think any sort of announcement would come out? Noon EST? Afternoon? I’ll be on the lookout for noon as it seems like a common time for stuff to get announced

I bet a single drops tonight or tomorrow. I don't think they'd go to all this teasing this week if they didn't intend to share new music.

 

Trying not get to my hopes up -- I remember the teasing for Midnight and the teasing for AOAL and both times Coldplay convinced me they were trying to go "alternative" but didn't. But this time... that poster and these symbols seem to be indicating some return to worldly, acoustic sounding music? Side note -- but the symbols remind me a little bit of a mix between Arcade Fire's Neon Bible and Bon Iver's 22 A Million. Obviously not identical but getting those vibes.

How can we make sure this site never dies?! Like, right now, people are coming, but let’s suppose other 4 years pass, what do we do?

There were rumours that suggested music either today or tomorrow. Not sure about time zone, but definitely keep an eye on twitter, maybe set your notification on.

It is possible that they will continue teasing for a bit more. I would not be so sure that new music is going to be released tomorrow.

To save Stephen from having to be blunt, to make sure the site never dies, pay the site money! The site didnt go down because the owners didnt love the band anymore, but because it was a net loss having to keep it up. This could be as simple as giving the site views, turning off/whitelisting adblocker for the site, etc. I dont recall if Coldplaying had merch, but buy merch, etc.

 

Just use the site, engage in discussion, make/share content, offer to help be part of the team perhaps, participate in the movements and projects, etc. It all adds up.

Yes!!! I’m new in this site and I truly love it!!!! I know there are real, true fans here!! You don’t know how hard it is to just meet “occasional” coldplay fans and not being able to have deep conversations about this amazing band! I shall never let this site die!

Also wondering... is that moon and sun art the full artwork or a piece of it? Like how the rings were part of the AHFOD artwork. Also are they for the new album or just the new single? Hmmmmm

I was half expecting an announcement, a teaser or something for 9 PDT. Looks like not happening. Maybe something at midnight EST?

My guess is an announcement tomorrow that will tell us album release date, tracklisting, pre-order, and single release date (which will be next Friday).

The new symbol looks decidedly oriental. And that source code is so intriguing - why only Chris and Guy though ? Is this the first Coldplay album where some tracks have been written by half the band only (remember Conscious Pilot only being by Jonny and Will) ?

What if the "Wedding Band" on the poster points towards this music being a marriage of East and West, the Orient and the Occident ?

It all makes sense now that they hired a cultural advisor for the Middle East. They probably wanted to make sure not to step on anyone's foot with their release.

I wonder if 'Le Trio Joubran', that Palestinian band Chris was seen with, is gonna be a collaboration.

That source code seems weird to me, because yesterday I got an SMS from my mobile network provider about a contest winning tickets for Jordan!

Don't forget Chris had visited Jerusalem many times - Jordan is not far away, Ammam is actually close to Jerusalem.

Surely innovative ways of going live this time, with perhaps smaller venues as well. Can't imagine them just doing stadium tour.
