Just out of curiosity, has anybody been keeping a running list of unreleased songs that might appear on this album? E.g.:

1) The Race
2) Us Against the World [reworked and "finished" as Chris mentioned in Together at home]
3) UFO (#2)

Car Kids

Hi guys!!! Last Monday an Italian newspaper published a brief interview with violinist Davide Rossi. I'm Italian and live in Italy, so I promptly went to the newsagent's and bought the paper. In

On Chris' live instagram stream Guy commented that he play Macadamu - supposedly a new song, too?

At this stage nothing is confirmed to be on the album of course but I am guessing that any of the old titles might appear as they like them.

I wonder who is producing them this time though, if it's the same team or any new/old friends.

Every Coldplay album has had a title track (including Viva, which had two of them, and Ghost Stories, though that one was a bonus track), so I don't think it's far-fetched to expect that there's gonna be a song called Music of the Spheres.

Some of this songs are too old that I don't see them revisiting for a potential release on LP9... Lukas was released by Natalie Inbruglia (Chris gave her the song).

Gosh it's kinda frustrating to know some potential gems are laying around as unreleased demos on the band's studio... WE NEED THEM ALL. One of the most wanted demos is Car Kids, which seems to be a finished song on its own according to the Mylo Xyloto pop-up book. Also, Tomorrow/World Without You seems interesting (GS era).

Also I think "Heart On Fire" has a good chance to be on the new album. Leaked snippets from it can be found on the internet.

I heard the snippet and I think it was just a proof of concept, Chris is kinda mumbling on there hahaha

I think of all these, I only see these songs come out on the next album

UFO # 2 (Someone Special)

Us Against the World (Most likely called Silver Bird and probably like an Interlude)

The Race

hi guys! it's always a pleasure to wait a new lp with you and read all your theories. I have a question: I'm not so good with english and probably I missed a part of the discussion, so why are you all talking about a project that will surely contain old unreleased song? What are the clues that say that in a clear way? Thank you, an hug to all of you ?

There aren't any actual clues for any song other than The Race (which we're 99% certain will be on the next album). We're just looking at recently found unreleased songs like Lethal Drug and guessing which ones are the most likely to be released on the album.

I suppose the only reason I those older songs are listed is because very old unreleased songs have seen the light of day. Go to around the 43 minute and 40 second mark this video from the MX sessions in 2009 and tell me that's not A L I E N S.?

Us Against The World is a possibility because Chris talked about a "finished" version of it in the same Instagram live stream where he mentioned UFO #2.

I do agree that the oldest songs on this list are very unlikely to show up on MOTS, though.

Yup, that's A L I E N S hahah! I know sometimes that happens, they release something old, but i doubt they'll release something like "A Ghost" old....

I think the best thing that can happen is the band returns from out of the blue, with no steady promotional teasing build up, kind of like the way they dropped Midnight. I feel really really tired hoping for nothing. And all these conspiracy theories, just screw them.

I'm not trying to be a mood killer here, but I apologize if I am (I know I am).

Ehh. It's fun to theorize. And before the AHFOD track listing was announced, I remember jokingly predicting that there would be a song called Birds (because of Chris's obsession with writing lyrics about birds and flying). ?

I kind of do hope they drop a single or an entire album out of the blue. That'd be a nice change of pace. But I still doubt they will.

The trademark for "Music of the Spheres" has moved into pre-publication. This means that if no objections are made against it, it belongs to Coldplay in 2 months time to use in whatever way they want ?

I’m sure they’ll be dropping one or more singles in the following months

Also don't forget they released Bani Adam from right around the same time!

And Arabesque originated around that time. And supposedly Everyday Life originated as a "wedding album" from years ago... it makes me think of the song Wedding Bells. Perhaps this "wedding album" was the acoustic and stripped down project that gave us UFO, Us Against The World, and Charlie Brown before those songs became part of Mylo Xyloto.

Now, Coldplay doesn't finish and release old demos as often as bands like Radiohead do. But they have done it. So never count out old demos.

^Yup!! I find this era so fascinating. They release their best album with Viva La Vida and head straight back into the studio with Brian Eno to work on more material. Some of their best songs since Viva (ALIENS, Arabesque, Charlie Brown) all came from this time period. My hope is that they will rework more demos from that time as it really was the "creative height" of their career, in my humble opinion. I'm sure they are always going back to pull old ideas out of the attic, but I also really wish they'd pull a radiohead and drop all their old demos from that time. I WANT CHARLIE BROWN WITH ACCORDIAN NOW.

Nice! What does this mean?

That something to do with Coldplay will be called Music Of The Spheres. It could be a song, but it's likely an album - or perhaps something else?
