I don't know how you could OFFICIALLY say who the greatest drummer ever to have lived is, but in your opinion who is the best? You could post just a single name, a list, or why if you wanted. In my opinion, Keith Moon (RIP) will always be one of the greats. Keith Moon was the drummer for The Who until he died of an overdose in 1978. Will Champion from Coldplay

Dry the River, a five-man London group that plays a dusty-road Americana that mixes alternative-folk, deep-South gospel, finger-picking guitar, and vocals largely sung in three-part harmony. The band have released 2 EPs: "The Chambers & The Valves" “Bible Belt” [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4EoNZQ0reI]Dry the River - Bible Belt[/ame] http://www.drytheriver.net/ http://www.facebook.com/drytheriver http://www.myspace.com/drytherivermusic

Does anyone else like them? They're a ska/reggae band from Jamaica. I do believe they're doing some shows still and formed in the early 60's.

no thread? coldplaying sux. quote wikipedia "Kieran Hebden (born 1980, Putney, London, England, United Kingdom) is a post-rock and electronic musician. Hebden first came to prominence as a member of the band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist under the moniker of Four Tet. Hebden's music typically eschews the traditional pop song format in favour of a more abstract approach—his sound and melodies incorporate elements of hip hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk music with live instrumentation." He is the best electronic musician around. His album from 2010, There Is Love In You is one of my all time favourite album. It is incredible. He's done…

Suede split up? I've read it in some places, and there's a message on their website: Important announcement from the band Suede would like to announce that from next year they will be working on their own individual projects.there will not be a new studio album until the band feel that the moment is artistically right to make one.this announcement does not affect the forthcoming touring commitments. suede would like to thank the fans for their wonderful support over the years. see you in the next life.     That's really sad. I think they're a very good band and their gigs are amazing!! Brett is a real showman!! My first …

Let's put this shortly: Absolutely brilliant album from Australia! Collaboration between two Australians: Steve Kilbey (lead singer and songrwriter from progressive rock band called The Church) and Martin Kennedy (founding member of instrumental electronic collective All India Radio). Already at the first songs I was totally astonished :stunned:: "what a songwriting and composing". And at first listening that album made it to the end never disappointing me, which happens very rarely. So far, definately best piece of album this year. No weak song on that album and album works just amazingly as a whole. And it becomes even better after few listenings. I picked 4 …

Hi guys, I'm stumped and need help and remember people here being awesome at this game. I'm DJing a wedding and while I'm good for music in general, I can't think of enough good slow dance tracks. There's the usual suspects of course: Coldplay, Elbow, Snow Patrol, Travis... Lots of tracks by Stars... Any other suggestions? I'm aiming for mainly modern stuff mixed with some 80s and later. What's your ultimate slow dance? Any quirky favourites? Any you couldn't stand ever hearing again? Long time no see by the way. Hope life is treating you all well.

One of my top bands, I think they're great, any other fans on here? [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YfpRm-p7qlY]The Jam - Town Called Malice - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m-H0uIH5HHQ]The Jam - That's Entertainment - YouTube[/ame] Paul Weller was the singer in the band and in my opinion he is an icon. I, personally, think of them as a mod band (well mod revival) but for those new to The Jam, Wikipedia says "The Jam were an English punk rock/New Wave/mod revival band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s" :) Everyone listen to their stuff! Wish I could've seen them live :"(

He was the opening act at the Tori Amos show I went to on Friday and was AMAZING. He was way better than Tori, I must say. I was not impressed with her performance, but he was great. He played 6 songs with no band whatsoever, just him and his guitar. I bought his CD after and it's great. His single is called Ghost which is a great song, or also if you wanna check out the song Morning After & Sorry So Sorry are all ace songs. Has anyone heard of him?

Been fan of them for a long time now. I know that Violet likes them too, but I'm not sure if anyone else on this board listens to them. They just released their third album, Field of Reeds, which is amazing. Definetely worth checking out! For those who have never listened to them, here is a video for their most recent single:

It has become a Coldplaying tradition that every 4 months or so the World of Music holds a mixtape exchange. Over previous exchanges it has been run by many people. The general idea that you get together a heap of songs that people may not of heard, you enjoy, that sound well together or that were just pulled out of a hat (though I don't really advise the last option); it's really up to interpretation. Basically, if you love to listen to new music and discovering new artists and genres, this is for you. Here are the rules that mostly have been copied from the efforts of RedGirl, because they just work :P Rules: 1. Sign up saying you want to participate - leave …

One the most influential English bands, they have been cited in reference by Johnny Marr & Morrissey (Morrissey did a duet with her), covered by LCD Soundsystem... They are brilliant. My favourite songs are: "Happy House", the intro is great. "Kiss Them for me", there is a great groove here, classic guitars I saw that she'll be in concert in London next monday 17 June at the royal festival hall, there are still a few tickets on the southbankcentre site.
