I found this gem on Soundcloud, I think it's absolutely brilliant. Although I wish they had mixed Chris' voice better because it sounds a bit out of place. https://soundcloud.com/serranocarlos/kanye-west-vs-lana-del-rey-coming-to-die-carlos-serrano-mix

Songs can be played directly within the app Twitter launches #Music service with artist recommendations Twitter has unveiled a new music app which will recommend tracks based on who you follow on the social network. Songs can be played directly in the app via services such as Rdio, Spotify and iTunes. The software displays songs your friends are currently listening to - as well as suggestions from artists. It follows moves by other social networks such as Facebook to incorporate music recommendations into their services. Last year, Spotify announced its own "follow" system, but the functionality is yet to be rolled out to users on mobile. Twitter's app - calle…

Not expecting a lot of people to be really interested, so I'll keep it short. Serena-Maneesh Norway's answer to My Bloody Valentine recorded their second album, Serena-Maneesh 2: Abyss in b-minor, in a cave outside Oslo. Released on 4AD. Sufjan Stevens features (I'm not quite sure where). Drowned In Sound gave it 8/10. Uncut: "Exquisite shoegaze". Recommended track: Aysha Abyss. Kråkesølv Indie band from Bodø also released their second, Bomtur Til Jorda, but not on The Pirate Bay like their first. Critically acclaimed as the future of Norwegian rock. I could see that, only they sing in Norwegian, which is internationally a handicap. Guitar based 90's Indi…

I remembered last night about the first ever mixtape I was given. It was from my sister back when I was in primary school, around 1997-98 (so i'd have been nine or ten). It was awesome. Full of stuff I had never heard before and since my sister was a goth, full of stuff I wouldn't have had access to normally at that age. Marilyn Manson, Coal Chamber, Sepultura, System of a Down. Then stuff I still like today like Radiohead, Nirvana, Deftones. I got it confiscated when I took it into school on a day where you could take a toy in and a girl listened and started crying half way through this song: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqIptv3Ez2g]Tourniquet - Marilyn …

I know it's a limited audience but an enthusiastic one. Fans of MLP.... I've been making music with them since i discovered them (mainly EDM). http://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave It's a youthful and optimistic community for the most part and that's what i love about them. Well actually the fact that they've made a whole music scene that's full of actually many good musicians with home-made and often free tracks. There's likely close to a thousand musicians making various style and adaptions from the show with a good chunk of them are actually good. http://bronymusic.com [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzpDguYAroU]just[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/wat…

This isn't a hate thread. This isn't a love thread. Moreso a why do you hate him so much thread. So who knows what will happen with him when his balls drop. But. Let's move past the fact that his fan base is primarily young girls and he has a shit haircut (but hey, so does Win Butler). He is a hard working musician. While there are lots of musicians targeting that age demographic, I take the beibs the most seriously. First of all it was incredibly smart with him going with Usher instead of JT. I think that opened a few more doors for him. It's pretty cool that somebody of Usher's status wanted to work with this kid. And then that latest mix with Kanye …

I didn't really like their first album too much, but They Were Wrong So We Drowned is REALLY growing on me. Possibly the best new album I've heard so far this year, if you can put up with it's dense and sometimes grating dissonance. Anybody else a fan?

Hi there sorry I had no idea which forum to post this in! This thread is more of a shout out to the people of Suffolk (UK) if there are any on here ;) My band Late Night Traffic are currently gigging in venues which are increasing in size and professional status and we are looking to build up more of a fan base in the area to make sure people know about us and when we are playing! and selling tickets is important too ;) ha ha anyway if you want to come see us live at some point get information on the location and ticket prices on our fb page and hopefully see you there, we are hugely influenced by Coldplay and would like to share with you our own music:) Here is a live re…

Okay so lets face the facts. We all love music here. And we like to talk about our favourite bands. And we like to dedicate threads, posts, pictures, and fandom about them. Since there is talk about Radiohead Week II, U2 Week, Muse Week, Beatles Week, etc. let's keep it all organized. We'll come up with some guidelines as to how they should be carried out. Also some guidelines about how frequently we'll have them. Maybe suggest some band nominations and we'll make a master schedule on here. And maybe a mod can sticky this? August - Radiohead Week II Organized by Sara September - U2 Week October - Muse Week Organized by Violet November - Beatles Week Organi…

First there was Jet then Wolfmother and now Tame Impala. the classic rock and roll sound has become the key to success in the Australian alternative scene, which in the case of Jet and Wolfmother has led to worldwide success. Tame Impala bring a great 8 track sound to the table, you can very much tell from their debut EP that they have grown up listening to Led Zeppelin, Cream and psychedelic rock. They are signed to the same record label (Modular Recordings) as Cut Copy and Wolfmother and internationally the Klaxons. Here are 3 songs from their debut EP. it was released in October 2008 and went to the top of the local EP charts. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…

I used the search functions and i discovered that it doesn't exist a thread dedicated to this new band. They are called Ded Rabbit and they define themselves: Eugene, Fergus, Eoin and Donal Gaine. Band of brothers playing an eclectic mix of indie and sax funk As far I discovered from their website, they have one EP that has two names: Ded Rabbit or Ice Cream. You can listen to everything here You can buy their EP here http://dedrabbit.bandcamp.com/ They have a twitter, facebook and tumblr account too And these are the video clips on youtube [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W5Au1USxh8]Ded Rabbit - Andromeda's Milkshake - YouTube[/ame] …
