I'm a huge Coldplay fan and I have a question that is worrying me a lot: Is the new Coldplay music (Violet Hill) considered original or a cover? Because if Coldplay state that it is an original the public will soon consider it as plagiarism of "Phantom Planet - California"!!! Go to youtube if you don't believe me. Please tell me that it is a cover!

This may have been mentioned somewhere else but has anyone found a place to order the CD single for VH? (Not including the German Amazon link) I live in Canada and could get a hold of it through that link.

Why Chris Martin would write about Bush - when he is not even American? Is Viva la Vida a political themed album? Is Coldplay going U2 when writing about political matters? Hi Everyone: There are many too many who think Violet Hill has a Genesis like sound. Since I am a huge fan of Genesis and Coldplay, I can only hope the Genesis comments were intended as compliments. Go easy on me please ... :laugh3: So, which Genesis songs does Violet Hill most sound like? Or, which Genesis songs inspired what we hear in Violet Hill? I hear elements of Home by the Sea, Mama, Abacab and a few others. What are you all picking up? TB

When do you think it will air? It's gonna on radio and coldplay.com tomorrow with it being released on digital download and 7" about a week later, so when's the video going to air? It's usually before the actual release date so my guess is this weekend hopefully.

Hey guys. I'm hoping someone can give me a straight answer without saying "Oh, just check out the download mirror posted on another forum." I actually didn't have a problem getting the email itself; it came within 5 minutes of me entering my info. Here's my problem though. I'm hoping that some of you had this same problem and overcame it. I clicked on the link to the download site and it asked me for a username and password... ...whaaaaaaaaaat?? Still it's interesting enough for speculation! And just so you know, it is very rare for Amazon to stock promo CDs so this might be the real deal! (just not released in the UK)

I liked violet hill very much. in the beginning i thought that it started very very very very slow. all the way until :40 sec of soft soft synthesizer or whatever you call it it started nice. People say that this is coldplay's loudest song. I liked the loudness but i want to hear coldplay just a little louder. I hope to god that the rest of the album is a little more heavier than VH. One of my initial reactions when i first heard this song at 7 on Radio 1 was that this song was made for live performances, especially large venues. ((forgive my ignorance here, but) EMI is releasing a vynil record of 2 Coldplay songs. So is it in actual record? What if I dont have a record player how do I listen to it? Also, I live in U.S.A., am I eligible(sp?) to recieve a copy?

As you know, Coldplay are giving away their new single for a week on their site. They will then be releasing it as a single (download only) on May 6th (correct me if im wrong) Given the chart history of Coldplay in the UK, they have been robbed of 2 #1 single's before by Darius (or whatever he is called) and the Crazy Frog :\ Allthough a lot of #1 single's are a joke, it would be great if Violet Hill became their first UK #1 :) Giving away the single a week before would decrease the chances of that happening by a lot but considering most of the people who download over the next week will be Coldplay fan's and also considering that a lot of people not just fan's get a b…
