Hello, My apologies, I hate it when people start threads for one small question but I'm mostly unfamiliar with this board. Anyway, my mom loves Coldplay and I want to get her a Coldplay-related gift for Christmas, but maybe something a little atypical. Any ideas?

The "LeftRightLeftRightLeft" Mailing Exchange was set up in May of 2009, when Coldplay announced they would be giving away a free live album during an upcoming US/UK leg of their Viva La Vida tour. This album is also available in a download from Coldplay's website (linked below). Some fans were unfortunately left out in receiving a physical copy due to a myriad of reasons - not being able to make it to a concert, shortages of the album at some of the shows, living in a different country were among some of them. It was some of these reasons that originated in the idea of a mailing exchange listing, and the culmination of ideas that lead to the thread you see today! Did …

Link Chris Martin encouraging him to play the headline slot. Speaking to today's Observer newspaper, 70-year-old Jagger said: "It's not your stage and it's not your crowd per se – people have bought their tickets before any acts have been announced. I know U2 didn't have the best of nights [in 2011], although the weather didn't help." Jagger asked for Bono's advice on whether the Stones should appear, while Chris Martin wrote him a letter listing the reasons why the group should. "Chris was very sweet. The truth is, though, that they'd never actually asked us – and the first time they did, we said yes." The Stones man and festival veteran who will become a gr…

Imagine if Chris follows in the footsteps of other bands and puts out a solo album of "songs written but they are not really 'coldplay' songs" and does a smallish solo acoustic tour playing the solo stuff mixed up with solo-acoustic versions of some greatest hits plus some rarities. What would you do?

Is this serious? Or made-up non-sense? David Brent to support Coldplay live Ricky Gervais's Office character will strut his stuff on stage with the big boys, Lee Evans just wants to sit and paint, and we enjoy some scientific one-liners from our readers Some detail has been added to recent reports that Ricky Gervais is to take David Brent and his guitar on the road, with the news – as reported in the Sun – that Brent is to support Coldplay on their next tour. According to the tabloid: "Ricky has already got a date booked in to support Coldplay at Hammersmith Apollo when they start to test new material on fans." Gervais has previous with the band, of course. In seri…

Hello to all of the lovely Coldplay fans, I wanted to ask if any of you knew what book it was that inspired Viva La Vida? I saw some one post it on here on another thread about a year ago and I was wondering what it was called again.. and if did inspire it were did you see it that the book inspired the song? Was it in a interview or written article? I hope some one can answer my question, if not, thank you for reading! <3

10 reasons Coldplay should be more respected than they are Coldplay are releasing a new single, ‘Atlas’, on August 26th. The song sees the biggest band in the world team up with one of the biggest movie franchises, as the track will be used in the new Hunger Games film, ‘Catching Fire’. But it’s a strange state of affairs when the biggest band in the world are somewhat of a guilty pleasure. As with U2 before them, Coldplay are one of the most ridiculed bands on the planet. Chris Martin and co are often labelled a band of insipid, pretentious idiots; a group not all that talented and certainly not all that worthy of their 50 million+ album sales. Type “I hate Col…

Considering that I've never seen this and that the debate still rages on about LP4 being called Prospekt or not, I don't think this has been posted before. I found this on the Coldplay Official Facebook Group, which Debs Wild herself created and writes in: [in response to someone named Travis that referred to the album as Prospekt] "Travis .... the album will NOT be called Prospekt. The name did initially have relevance to the album, but not anymore. It's a pseudonym, if you will, of the person who writes the studio journals." http://hs.facebook.com/wall.php?id=2426402276&page=5&hash=8a6ca5acc2d90c3008947b77ec83222d If this still continues to be true …

Has anyone ever thought of doing this? It wouldn't cost anything, the music would always be amazing, it would be another way for ppl to find coldplaying on the web (podcasts are discovered via mp3 serches all the time), members could plug their bands, art or whatever else they're into...it could be alot of fun!! Along with music, the host could play highlight of CP interviews, read off the latest news etc...and I think it would all be legal. I'm sure more than one of us is/could easily be set up for podcasting, so we could have rotating hosts so that no one person had to work their butt off for it if they didn't want to. Just an idea...let me know your thought…
