Coldplay

After they recently played A Whisper for the first time live, I've been thinking about other songs they've never played live. I'm pretty sure Twisted Logic and UWTB haven't, but I'm not sure. Any others?

Can we send it to the bakery? or another address? I know on the Coldplay website it says to just write an email to them but I've been there, done that. Or if there is no postal address does the bakery have an letter box or someone i could knock and hand it to? Thanks :D

OK so the correct font/way for coldplay to be written during the MX era was: http://i.imgur.com/V5pa3fl.jpg This is by far the best font they have used, and I think its the best font to use to represent all of coldplay, but not just MX. We all know how different and maybe on some songs "Return to the roots" Ghost Stories was, but I stumbled upon rumors from numerous outlets that Coldplay is to release ANOTHER full length album in 2015. There's a theory that any one person is 6 or less degrees of separation from any other person on earth. For example, you know someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows the members of Coldplay. Have you found a path like this that goes to Coldplay? I have. Coldplay played with the killers in the war child gig. Brandon Flowers (singer for the killers) visited my dad's work and met one of his co workers. 4 degrees of separation between me and Coldplay.

So iv'e been looking up individual coldplay songs on wikipedia lately, and I've noticed that my very favourite coldplay songs have been produced by jon hopkins The fact is, that beautiful, ethereal, other worldly synth and effects isn't actually coldplay at all. Its people like brian eno, and jon hopkins, and paul epworth etc... Don't get me wrong, it's still coldplay who write the melodies, lyrics, guitars and drums. Past Coldplay albums of the last decade have gotten off to a speedy start straight into the embrace of radio playlists across many genres. Yet, that doesn't seem to be the case with an album that has had singles debut on iTunes at #1 and retain a top 10 spot. "Ghost Stories" just isn't getting mainstream radio playback. Through the guide at xmfan.com, I was able to uncover that "Magic" hasn't been played on Hits 1 since April and "A Sky Full of Stars" has yet to debut. Other stations such as Kiss, Z100, and 20 on 20 have not spun a Coldplay song in months. Time to request more Coldplaying or what?

I know it's little early to be talking about Coldplay's 7th Album when they're 6th album hasn't even been released yet but I heard something very interesting just recently! I read online somewhere that Coldplay's Ghost Stories is a low key album and that they aren't going to have an official world tour until 2015(maybe after LP7 comes out). Also that someone from their label company said that they expect Coldplay to make a more commercial album in 2015! At first I didn't really believe it because Coldplay normally take a long time to make a studio album. But now it all makes sense to me! What is truely the best coldplay album (too the date)

I wanted to ask you if you changed your view on GS,after the hype it was on release.Do you still get the same pleasure out of it as the 1st day.For me it kinda numbed down,its just a not a bad album,good,but they can do better.Please no hate or i'll fart!

So everyone seems to agree the Ghost Stories shows are wonderful/amazing/insert superlative. But the big complaint seems to be the length of the shows, especially with 6 full length albums, and a couple of EPs now. Personally my only dislike for it is how over produced it is but other than that it's a great album. Why does everyone hate it?

Now that Coldplay is definitively in the Ghost Stories era and will likely be for the rest of the year (Atlas--GS--GS (Deluxe)--possible EP) we can now define its sound: a mix of the old (somber atmospherics, low-key, introspective lyrics) and the new (minimalist electronics, pop driven, occasionally big sounding.) So where do you want their sound to go next? They have already successfully explored alternative rock, world and all out pop, stadium-rock, acoustic/piano ballads, shoegaze, electronica, even folk to some degree. Where could they go next?

Coldplay performed on David Letterman last night, did anyone watch it? They were wonderful.

Came across this article by the Belfast Telegraph today: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/music/news/coldplay-to-release-two-new-albums-30166212.html It speculates that Coldplay will release a more "commercial" sounding album than Ghost Stories next year, followed by a tour next year as well. I don't know if this is speculation or not, but if this is all true, this really is something to get excited about - another Coldplay album! Give it a read. Thoughts? - Rob
