Hello all :D So when I get really really stressed out I like to listen to really sad music (I don't know why, it's kind of weird). Does anyone have any suggestions of songs I can listen to when I'm in the mood for that? I don't have very many sad songs, and I'd like to expand that. I like really stripped down, acoustic songs that lack rigid structure. "He Was a Friend of Mine" by Bob Dylan is probably the best template I can think of. It's really raw and honest, and it doesn't get lost in complicated wordplay. To be honest, the indie scene is probably best at this. Cat Power is someone I frequent. Mine are (amongst others) The Old Mans Back Again by Scott Walker, River Man by Nick Drake and Lime Tree by Bright Eyes. What are yours?

Burial is a genius. An unintentional genius though. Sure a lot of his music sounds the same, but he's still put out some of the best music I've ever heard. Bon Iver has a lot of average music, but I still love him to pieces. Drake is a great songwriter, an amazing singer and an extremely average rapper. He's honest, which is what sets him apart from other rappers. He raps about real problems, not about shooting dudes. I understand if you don't like him though :lipsrsealed2:

I'm really into Daft Punk and Justice, but unfortunately my knowledge of the genre is pretty vague beyond them. Any suggestions for other artists (bearing in mind I like DP and Justice, bands similar to them would be good). Thanks :)

Alright, here's a thread for all sort of post-rock bands.. you just talk about these bands as much as you like, and post links for downloads.. pics.. etc. Personally i like Explosions In The Sky a lot.. i've been into this band for quite a while now.. i'm new to listening to it so i'm not that good.. so making this thread will probably widen my knowledge in it ..
