  2. Last time i dated a guy it was two years ago. Since then i changed group of friends, at first (from september to december of last year) i liked a guy, but mostly for how he looked like, not so much for his personality, which by the way was really immature, then i got over him because fortunately i opened up my eyes in time to see that he was an asshole and furthermore he changed group of friends so i don't see him anymore. Meanwhile for the first time in my life i formed a true friendship with a male, and it's not that clichè relationship that starts with being best friends and you end up marring him, this is not the case, we both made it clear that we are not attra…

Do we use too many exclamation marks? Elmore Leonard has died at the age of 87. The crime novelist really didn't like exclamation marks, notes Finlo Rohrer. His 10 rules of writing from 2001 are arguably as famous as any of his novels. Point five reads: "Keep your exclamation points under control. You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose." He wasn't the only enemy. "Cut out all these exclamation points," F Scott Fitzgerald urged. "An exclamation point is like laughing at your own joke." There's even a word, bangorrhea, that describes their overuse. But if you read any news website or newspaper you won't find many. Stern-faced…

  10. Hi everyone, not sure if you will be interested, but I'd love to read things people have written, it could be about anything.. I hope I've created this thread in the right spot lol.. here's one that I wrote, I'd love to hear anything you guys have written. As I sit here wondering where it all went wrong, I can’t help but feel there’s nowhere I belong. At times you seem alien as if speaking in tongue, I wait for the day where the truth is sung. Days of blissful ignorance when I was young, Are now no more than a memory, as I face the next rung, This mighty ladder it seems has no end, But upwards I feel I must transcend. The top bears gifts greater than silve…

You don't have to read it if you don't want to. My brother and his wife are out of town, but my nieces are both staying at one of our cousins (she's like 40-something) but before my nieces left, the oldest one (she's 14) was wearing shorts that are shorter than booty shorts.. At first, I thought she was gonna go change but didn't seem like she was going to, so I asked her if she had other shorts to wear and to wear them before she left.. 20 minutes pass by and she's still not moving, and then I finally asked her to change because my cousin had finish eating and she was going to want to leave soon. Instead of her saying "ok" or something along those lines, she starts …

I would post them here, but there are too many. I'll link the website to you. Enjoy, and I hope to see you all out here. http://www.BattleFieldScars.com Enjoy!

Okay so I tried all my bat-skillz (ALL OF THEM) on trying to find out who made the first song in this video: [video=youtube;jZFuBQ99MLE] The one that starts right away. The video's description doesn't tell me anything about the composer, nor is there anything written at the end of that vid. And neither the official website of that animal rescue thingy has that video uploaded anywhere else (at least I haven't found it yet) with any info. NARGH. I really like this atmospheric song and I would like it even more listening to it without having that dude talking over it the entire time. SO, does anybody of you have any idea how this piece of music is called? To me it…

  17. Bit of fun this, but I do like the old country stuff. My song is - Jerry Reed - She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft). Country songs have some great song titles! http://www.thisdayincountrymusic.com/birthdayno1

Post what your windows desktop looks like... I know, mine's REALLY plain-looking... :D Here's how to do it: 1. Without any windows or programs open, (you can also minimize or shrink windows) press the "print screen" button once. (that little button beside scroll lock on the keyboard, to the right of F12) 2. Open MSpaint, or any image-editing program. (Start--->Programs--->Accessories--->Paint) 3. Once in Paint, press CTRL and V. Your desktop should suddenly appear. Now, go up to the file menu and choose "save as" and try to save it as a JPG file otherwise its gonna be way too huge to post. :)

Been a long while since I posted here, but for a nice bit of nostalgia on a Tuesday morning, what's your favourite thread ever on Coldplaying? Mine would be one of Anthony's writing threads. I did like the one that descended into rap battles between Thom Yorke and Noel Gallagher though.

not sure if this should be in the WoM, but I thought more people would see/be interested in the thread if it was in the lounge. anyway after the Arcade Fire webcast and discussion of the live performance and me doing previous listening parties online with friends I thought it be cool to do some listening parties here on coldplaying. Basically it's having people listen to an album at the same time and discuss it. Rules/how it works:

No this doesn't belong in the Lounge Games thread Sporcle is a trivia/quiz site that easily can take up most of your day if you have nothing better to do. Here are a few interesting ones: Can you name the countries of the world? 133/196 :/ Not bad, but still I missed a lot of African and Caribbean countries Can you pick the music artists that goes with each 1990s album? 20/50  Can you name the colors of the rainbow? If you screwed up on the other two here is your chance to get 100 Your turn. Or post some that you like. I'm sure there's some Coldplay ones on there

This thread is dedicated to the memory of one of the greatest heroes in human history. If you like to pay your tributes or share any stories and memories related to Madiba, this is the place to participate. As a move to keep his memory alive and highlight his achievements, what do you believe to be his most significant and influential contributions to our world?
