  1. Coldplay To Play London's Hyde Park? Announcing the beginning of their comeback with already confirmed headline sets at a number of UK festivals, it now looks likely Coldplay will be adding a headline show at Hyde Park this summer. As part of the promotional push for the upcoming release of their fifth studio album, Coldplay have already been announced as a headliner at Glastonbury, T in the Park and Oxegen as well as Rock AM Ring in Germany and Pinkpop in Holland. Coldplay’s last album, ‘Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends’, was released in 2008 and the band followed it with a gruelling tour schedule which finally ended in March 2010 in South America after…

Okay, so I'm new to all this and I haven't ever been to a Coldplay concert. I would absolutely love to go see them, I think. News has just said that they are coming to Australia, which is super exciting. But. They are going to a festival in QLD, and it's pretty far to travel seeing as my family aren't that into Coldplay, and it's a big ask for them to get me to the concert. Also, it's a festival so there are other performers there, which means that not everybody there is a Coldplay fan, so the crowd mightn't be that good. The question is. Do I go? Do I ask my parents to take me so I can go see them? Do I wait until they come on tour? Should I even go, because I hav…

  6. Hello to all gig goers, in the UK and overseas :D!! Twitter is now regarded as one of the best and easiest ways to spread news to the world, and for the upcoming UK and final leg of the tour (with the full backing from Ian I might add!) we hope to take it to a new level for Coldplay fans. A twitter account has been set up here: http://www.twitter.com/vivacrew. We are all the Viva crew. We hope that on the UK leg of this tour (with of course a little extra focus on Wembley) we hope to give lots of people access to this one account to tweet from. A main 'hub' if you will. That way eveyone can keep in touch of the news, everyone can give updates on the gates and queues, …

  7. From: http://www.virtualfestivals.com/festivals/reviews/9488/-/Coldplay-their-top-five-festival-shows After today's (15 February) news that Coldplay will headline the Saturday (25 June) night at Glastonbury Festival 2011, Dane Cobain looks to the past to see what we can expect come June. With three Glastonbury performances under their belt already (including a headline spot), Coldplay are regarded by some as returning veterans and by others as annoying guests that refuse to leave. If you ignore all the hype and controversy over the festival's headliners and look at Coldplay as a live band, what are you left with? Here’s VF top five Coldplay shows at festivals: …

  8. Started by Long Live Life,

I was suprised watching TOTP that they used what I thought was the worst take of the 4 for Chris' singing for Christmas lights......he seemed nervous and out of tune for a lot of the song. Then I took a look at the live performances in Liverpool and Newcastle. In Newcastle in particular I thought the same, very nervous and much different to his studio voice. I had thought that his voice had gone towards the end of the VLV tour as VLV (the song) in particular he always sounded the same. Is Chris just nervous having been in the studio so long, or is something going on with his voice? I hope it's the former

just rumors but a local newspaper says the concert producers are negociating with the band to bring them to Chile and Perú around the same time when they'll play in Rock in Rio (October) :awesome: I just hope this is true but I'm not sure about it. Why would they make a latin american tour without making us wait until everyone else gets to see them 5 times? Here's the scan Coldplay's part: "In Coldplay's case (they just released the Christmas Lights single), they are expected to visit Lima and Santiago, places they didn't visit last summer due to the lack of venues available (they just visited Argentina, Colombia and Brazil)."

Anyone think that there is much of a chance that Coldplay will take a headline slot at this festival between the 26th-28th of June. They still need some big acts to pad it out. Only Bon Jovi on the Saturday night have been confirmed.

  14. I'm not totally retarded that I can't use the search, ha, but I'm looking for something specific that I know exists although I'm not entirely sure where. it's a live performance of 'Politik' where Chris sings 'Give me love over this' but after the usual part, during Jonny's solo and it sounds awesome. it's not the live in toronto performance, though for reference here is that clip in the doobly-doo down below [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qel7MqUTsjg]YouTube - Coldplay Live in Toronto 2006 - Politik[/ame] I remember vaguely that chris' hair was similar to the toronto performance but it was during the same show where somebody draped a flag around Ch…

  15. Christmas without family...without friends...without presents... It's like the kid at the fairground who *so* wants a balloon, more than anything else in the World, but the helium runs out just before he gets to the front of the queue... It's like Thanksgiving without the Turkey, like Easter without the eggs... How long will it take the band to realise this? It's NOT about butterfly confetti! It's about the purest, simplest, and most beautiful song the band have ever written being played, as it should always be. Post your 'it's like...' here please, in empathy and solidarity. :( <edit> some people missed it due to my very dry sense…

Coldplay is seriously amazing. Their live show is insane! I don't get how they get incorporated as being a GAY band, because they are a real musical talent.

So which songs will be dropped from the previous tour for the next one which were regulars in the setlist? Which ones will be dusted off and re emerge after a few years? Personally I think Speed of Sound will be dropped or limited to rare appearances. It's a strange song is SoS. You couldn't get away from it in summer 2005 but it seems not to have stood the test of time for the band or that emphatic when performed live- rare for Coldplay. I doubt whether we'll see much of Violet Hill. If I was to bet on songs from Viva that would be retained it'd probably be Viva itself and Lovers In Japan as well as one of either Lost or Violet Hill. I'd like to see more songs from X&…

  20. Rumors about who will be headlining Coachella 2011 pretty much started the moment the last harmonics stop resonating at the Indio Polo Field last spring. With 2011 fast approaching, and Goldenvoice ticket layaway plan under way, the guessing game encouraged by the festival through its ever-active forum is coalescing around some names like Arcade Fire, Daft Punk and ... Coldplay? Yes--Coldplay and Foo Fighters have been strong guesses by sleuthing fans who track the touring schedules of major bands hoping to figure out the likeliness of their playing at Coachella. Arcade Fire and current Tron-soundtrackers Daft Punk (who everyone knows put on a mean live show, especial…

  25. Question for you all.....Why is it that you all think that Coldplay doesnt have a fan club for its true and genuine fans. We are the folks that would go crazy for them and really deserve the BEST seats and the opportunities for meet and greets...not just the schmucks with alot of money. We really need a true fan club with announcements for true coldplay fans! We shouldnt have had such a difficult time getting Pit tickets being we did all the research and drove ourselves crazy with ticketrush and livenation.....presale means nothing these days with the way scalpers work. They run the show. I got decent seats for my Philly show May 26th....sec 100 row s....not terrible but …
