My friend just shared this site with me, and I can not stop plugging Coldplay lyrics into it! Basically it's an automated version of a game we used to play on Babelfish, where you run a phrase through several language translations and then finally translate it back into English. What you end up with is sort of a mixed up, poetic version of what you started with. So let's try it out! Go to Translation Party, put in some lyrics, wait for the translator to reach equilibrium, and post the results. Then spoiler-tag what you started with so everyone else can guess the original lyrics. I'll start with a couple obvious ones. "Guide House, I need to fix the light in …

Just came across this on the web: Satriani And Coldplay Settle Lawsuit Over Melody... Which Is Really Too Bad from the this-would-have-been-a-useful-lawsuit dept Late last year, Joe Satriani sued Coldplay, claiming that the band's song Viva La Vida violated the copyright on his song, If I Could Fly. This resulted in all sorts of back and forth arguments, and eventually the realization that a bunch of other songs -- even many that predated Satriani's -- were quite similar. In fact, Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens later jumped in claiming that a song of his from the 70s was the real inspiration for the Coldplay song. Oddly... rather than recognize that this proved Satriani wro…

I'm not good with words so i hope this makes sense.. We have all heard Leftrightleftrightleft and seen Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. So here is a debate to discuss your favourite live performance of one individual song. o not your favourite live song ever but I want to know one time when you seen or heard a live version of a Coldplay song and you have thought that is Coldplay at their best. I am going for The Scientist Live at Glastonbury 2005 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7OQSl4FdJE]YouTube- ‪Coldplay - Scientist‬‎[/ame] Please if possible place videos or Audios. Thanks

  8. 1) Hello Nikki, and happy New Year. Thanks for giving us this interview, it's a honor for us to interview someone who took a huge part in Coldplay's debut. Thank you and a happy new year to you too. 2) Could you introduce yourself so the fans can really know who you are? Ok, well I'm a musician, producer and artist, although pretty much retired from the full time music scene now. Until a few years ago I ran Sync City Studio in London along with my partner Ron Niblett. You can follow what I'm up to now at www.nikkirosetti.co.uk 3) First, when and how have you discovered Coldplay? Coldplay were recommended to us as most of our clients were. It was all wor…

  9. Let's not beat around the bush here: There are some people who hate Coldplay. And of course, it doesn't really matter; let 'em hate for all I care. But lately I've been compelled to see a Coldplay variation of a "Haters gonna hate" picture, like the ones below. So basically I need a picture of someone from Coldplay (or all of them) making some kinda cool pose. Bonus points if they're strutting. I would contribute myself, but I have no pictures to contribute! >.<

Hi fellow Coldplayers! I'm sure that this question has been asked and I apologize for not hunting for the answer, but I have someone that I want to suck into, er... introduce to, the world of Coldplay. :sneaky: What are your suggestions as to which album to start with? I was thinking X&Y because it feels middle-of-the-road-ish to me; somewhere between Parachutes/ARoBttH and VLV. Of course, it is in the middle of those, but sound-wise, it's also somewhere in-between them, as well. What do you think?

On their official Facebook account Coldplay have joined the ever growing campaign by British tv chef Hugh Fernley Whittingstall's campaign to scrap the absolutely abhorrent EU laws which are having a shocking effect on fishing in the UK today. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/coldplay EU quotas mean half of all fish caught in the North Sea are having to be thrown back overboard DEAD. Join Coldplay in campaigning against this dreadful waste by signing the petition below. http://www.fishfight.net/ I am for one absolutely delighted Coldplay have joined the campaign. Living in a place where fishing is a big part of the economy and many people's lives it woul…

  23. I must admit it took me like 5 minutes to decide if it was worthwhile to open a thread for this, but you know what? there are a lot of repetitive and not really useful threads, and many people don't even dare entering his thread so here you go. From The Sun COLDPLAY's GUY BERRYMAN is giving DAVID DICKINSON a run for his money. Not by developing a leathery tan but by getting into the antiques game. The bass player has joined forces with his brother Mark to launch a company called Berryman's Antiques. Mark, a former chef, has moved to Sweden and is sourcing and restoring old Scandinavian furniture. Then Guy ships the stuff over to the UK and flogs it …

Whelp, during Term 4 of 2010, I had a class on using Photoshop to improve images, etcetera. Before we got into that, though, we had to demonstrate we could use the basic features of the program, for which we were asked to make a cover for a song or a movie poster. I, naturally, decided to make a cover for a Coldplay song, but I wasn't sure which to do. Eventually, I looked back at the Parachutes-era singles and noticed the recurring flower-on-a-solid-colour theme seen with Don't Panic and Yellow: I decided to make a cover for a Parachutes song I liked, and thought might have been a nice single; Spies. I started with a pretty poor image of a lotus on a blue backgro…
