Wow...I just heard this track on Radio One's Steve Lamacq show...it's incredible. I am BIG fan of Johnny Cash and Chris was saying in an interview with Steve that he wrote this song with Johnny Cash in mind, but Johnny Cash passed before he had the opportunity to record it... I can literally hear Johnny Cash singing it...would have been incredible! Does anyone know where I can track down this recording...this song is not going to be available on our side of the pond...from what I have been told. Any links to a download site would be GREATLY appreciated. Your friend in Cali, Brian :)

I for one do. Rush had several weak tracks. A Whisper sounded much like a B-side to me. Warning Sign is probably my least favorite Coldplay song of all time, as well. I can honestly say I like every track on this record. Another reason I think this record is superior is because it actually rocks! Square One, Talk, White Shadows, Twisted Logic and hell some of the other pick up the pace at the end. On AROBTTH, we had Politik, GPAPUYF, and the end of Amsterdamn, maybe. X&Y is just a more musically interesting album for me.

Brilliant opening song! (I cant find another topic about it) The first notes keep reminding me of Strauss's 'Also Sprach Zarathoustra', you know, the song used in 2001: A Space Odyssey! Does anyone else have that? :P

This might be a little early, but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about B-Sides for the second single, Fix You. I'm assuming they'll have two once again. I read on wikipedia that Ladder to the Sun, Poor Me, and Your Worlds Turned Upside Down were all intended to be on this album, and that after recording them they were scrapped. Anyone think that Fix You's B-Sides will be Ladder to the Sun and Your Worlds Turned Upside Down?!

in most of the new material there seems to be a recurring theme of space and the ocean. any ideas on the significance of this, if any? i've been thinking that these references are intentional, and are a play on the idea of X&Y. space is kind of the polar opposite of the sea, like X and Y. Also, Chris said X&Y is a cooler way of saying ying and yang, or hope and despair. well, they both make up a sort of symbolic ying and yang if you think about it; the space being above us, and the sea below us. space could represent hope, because we look to the sky or horizon when we're thinking about our future and having hope or whatever. the sea could represent despair because…

"Side Note: The popular song God Put a Smile Upon Your Face from AROBTTH was originally titled, "Your Guess Is As Good as Mine." It was originally going to accompany other songs that didn't make it onto the final cut: A Ghost, Deserter, Fingers Crossed, Murder, This Hollow Frame, In Isolation, and Animals. " From HOt & COLDPLAY.com the thing is i havent enen heard of t his hollow frame, or In Isolation. does anyone have these songs?
