Am i the only one here who's crazy about "Sparks"??? I know it's an :P old song and stuff but i just LOVE the lyrics and the whole acoustic number, plus Chris' voice is on the spot in that song :) Tell me what you guys think about it

I feel as if i am the only one that sees coldplay's lyrics as a partial form of love, heartbreak...ect ect. It helps me through my heartbreak and i was wandering if it it has help anyone else as well! So if so tell me your story and what particualr lyrics!

Wow...this song gets better and better the more that I listen to it. It's the kind of song that sounds great listened to softly or cranked up. I prefer it cranked up...ha! I am gonna go way out on a limb and say that "Low" might be the band's best song ever....

for a while now i been tempted to make my own coldplays greatest hits cd,but i wanted to wait till x & y came out so i had more material to choose from. It was by far one of the hardest things i had to do. My list was compiled of 25 songs,so i had to make a bunch of cuts in order to make a 80 min cd. In the end i was only able to fit 16 songs so i had to cut 9 songs. So heres what i got,all in order of the cd. I don't understand why everbody love Fix YOu and say it's the best song on the album !!!! DOn't get me wrong it's a great song but I think it doesn't fit the album..........so I always skip it !!!!!! anybody else out there who has the same opinion.......

but who sings the vocals in "Parachutes"? it sounds like Chris Martin sometimes, but other times, it just sounds a bit... different... did he record this song early in his career, or was he experimenting with his voice? thanks! :)

I was looking at some coldplay lyrics on the internet and Gravity was also on the list of songs, so I downloaded it, but it's in a live show... I found there's another version by embrace, from 2004, so coldplay's live version is before the embrace version. So I wanted to know who's song is it originally, and when's the live version from? and is there any other coldplay version?

I know there was another thread on this somewhere but i couldnt find it so i apologize.I think someone might have had this theory also but im not sure.But i think that the 2 sides(X Tracks&Y Tracks)have something to do with one another.There was one theory goin around that the X tracks are more upbeat and the Y tracks were more mellow or it might have been the other way around. I thought about a theory the other day.Someone might have said this earlier somewhere else,if so i dont take credit for it.But i was lookin at the cd and all the X tracks are labeled X1,X2,X3,etc. The the Y tracks Y1,Y2,Y3,etc. So i think that the matching numbers,for example,"X1-Square One …

Just finished listening to the album for the first time and I must say, its better than I expected after hearing some of the flack its been getting. But christ, Swallowed in the Sea. The lyrics. What the f*ck!? Rhyming tree with me with see!? and self with self. Surely he had enough time in the 3 year recording period to come up with something better than that. Ruins a lovely song

I just heard the most fantastic CBC Radio show on X&Y: the Coldplay edition of "I Hear Music". The host did a really thorough and thoughful critical analysis, mainly focusing on why many early Coldplay fans seem to be disapointed by this album. For me, i'd been playing the new "Talk" about 21 times now (more than any other X&Y tracks). The synth, the acoustic guitar, sharp bass-line, rockin' guitar-riff, and a great drum beat........all the element in this song are astonishing. :smoking: :heart:

Many choices abound for the best piano line in a coldplay song. Off of Parahcutes: Trouble and Everything's not lost... Off of AROBTTH: Politik, The Scientist, Clocks, Amsterdam.... Off of Coldplay Live: Life is for Living.......... Take your pick: Mine would be a tie between the Scientist and Life is For Living, withouting ignoring Amersterdam, which is a quality song.
