I just got the promo and the radio edit is far shorter, 4:09. Compared to the album version of 4:57. But this was to be expacted. It just seems to have less of a build up with it cutting alot of the quiet section out.

Was anybody else a little dissapointed by X&Y? I might just have to listen to the CD a little more, but compared to Blood to the Head, I was a little put down.

anyone know the meaning of the song? I do believe its spirtual - I do believe it's about us taking this beautiful world around us for granted (the sounds we *ignore* everyday) - some things no man can create, that can only be devine - about us making mistakes, even when we know they can be avoided. just some thoughts. "And birds go flying at the speed of sound, to show you how it all began. Birds came flying from the underground if you could see it then you'd understand" I don't know about anyone else, but I just keep picturing doves as the type of birds. its a great song! what about the reference to japan/china as the only places mentioned? - FTC

I have listened to the CD numerous times but just can't get into Twisted Logic. It sounds like a depressing Pink Floyd song. I don't know what it is, but it's not my favorite song on the CD.

For the sake of fun and frolic, let's go forward from Parachutes and reselect which songs were to be singles. For myself, I'd say: -Parachutes- Shiver: No, they chose this one perfectly. No other song could have lead the album so well as it represented it.("Yellow" is too big to resemble the rest of the album.) Yellow: This one, too, shouldn't be changed. Everything's Not Lost: Such a sweeping ballad as this should have been destined for radio play. A tad more universal in lyric than "Trouble", it might not be quite as catchy, but evocativeness should've won this one out. Sparks: More for the sake of added exposure for a lovely song than the chance it mi…

Hello everybody :D Im wondering if anyone knows what the next single off of X&Y will be! I think Speed of Sound was a shaky choice for the first single, apparently Chris said it was the connection between AROBTTH and X&Y and I can kind of see that, but I think something like Square One would have been much better! New, fresh, powerful material with a slightly darker sound! If you dont know whats next what do u think should be? Love to know what u think! :D :D :D

Hi everyone, I've lurked around here for a while but never really had much to say. Firstly I think the new album is amazing and I love every track apart from Low (which I think is a slightly less intelligent cousin to The One I Love, but it is very listenable) I think this is such a step forward musically (maybe a little step back lyrically) and the songs are so well crafted in parts it makes me tingle. My only concern is (and sorry if this has been mentioned a million times) is that apart from The Hardest Part and Swallowed in the Sea I'm finding it hard to pick up on the 'Coldplay' sound which wasted so many of my dark, winter evenings away pulsing around my candleli…

i notice that in the post poll about coldplay's albums nobody mentione the live 2003 cd & dvd. do you like it or not ? in my opinion, i really like the dvd and the cd tracklist without the two great songs scientist and trouble doesn't interest me very much :( i think that the first two songs sound exactly as the same as the studio version so i always skip the cd until the number three (a rush of blood) however, the one i love live version is really awesome and moses is ok. and, what about you ? do you play it frequently ? do you even have it ?

I just got around to ordering that CD from barnes and noble's website. I saw it only has 4 tracks - do you guys think it was worth the money for those of you that have it? I'm not complaining either way, it only came to about $8, but how is that cd?

Did anybody buy the Japanese version of X&Y to get this track? Who has it? Can someone post it somewhere so we all don't have to spend $40-50 for a CD we already have just to get the one song?

..which is weird because just one day ago I near despised the song, really I thought it was the biggest Coldplay mistake ever, not even worthy of being a B-side,but today I thought what hell I'll give it one more chance(because I hate to hate a Coldplay song)..and by the time he got to "everything I do is wrong" I was convinced,it's not so bad,it just needs time to sink in,so to everyone who still sees this song as the worst song on the album I say give it another spin, see how it feels, maybe you'll change your mind.

hey i just read that the band used maybe the same kind of influence kraftwerk had on talk, with maybe the band the pogues on swallowed in the sea... Musically, the band has never sounded more adventurous, referencing everyone from Kraftwerk ("Talk") to the Pogues ("Swallowed In The Sea")... its from http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006L16N8/ref=ase_cddb/104-1314035-5811957 but if this is true i'd like to know who this band is cause i've never even heard of them and then if anyone does know of them and of this "influence" of what not do they also know which one of their songs coldplay used to influence swallowed in the sea? and i must say wow i'm suprised i'm…

I heard a great Coldplay song with a really fast banjo lick played over it - but I don't know which song it is - can anyone help? I got the new album from i-Tunes last night but it's not on it. I am not a diehard Coldplay fan but I really like this tune!

just wondering who else thinks Fix You is the X&Y version of the Scientist? The Scientist is my fav Coldplay song and probably one of my all time favorites and Fix You is just like that...very passionate and touching....especially when it was used in OC. However I don't hear much praise for Fix You on the forums...I hope it becomes a single so I can sing it in karaoke.
