Ghost Stories (2014)

Take a moment to think about Magic and Midnight-- unlike Coldplay songs from previous albums (especially MX), neither of these songs have a distinct chorus, rather, they have groupings of words that are repeated in ways that are memorable and/or repetitive-- but there is no distinct chorus section. Another's arms is like this as well. What do you guys think of it? Have you noticed other variations in songwriting style in the GS songs that you find interesting? Share them here!

Now that we have the official lengths of four tracks on Ghost Stories, it seems that the album has the potential for being Coldplay's shortest. If we take Magic, Midnight, Another's Arms, A Sky Full of Stars and Always In My Head (assuming it is about 3:30 like the live version) that only adds up to around 21 minutes 30 seconds for over half of the album. Coldplay has never gone under 40 minutes for an album (the closest being Parachutes) and if we were to divide those nineteen remaining minutes between the four songs, that is about 4:45 per remaining track. It is widely known to be the first single. Midnight is technically "released" on March 17th. Obviously it's already been released on YouTube for free, and the band has said it's not an official single, but it's still a standalone track, and I give that date some credence because it's also a Monday, the day singles (see Magic) and full albums (see Ghost Stories) are released. Hey guys, just letting everyone know (in case anyone cares) that the font Coldplay uses for Ghost Stories (and all other related LP6-era stuff so far) is called: Golden Type ITC Original http://www.fonts.com/font/itc/itc-golden-type#product_top It's honestly one of my favorite fonts I've seen. Different than all the other eras. I look forward to seeing more things with this font.

Hey guys, I know it's jumping the gun a bit, but I was wondering if any of you more experienced Coldplayers could give me an educated guess on when you think the LP6 your will commence? I saw them on the MX tour in Sunderland last year, and it was hands-down the best night of my life. <3 So what do you guys think?

I was wondering what songs fits with the whole GS theme to be on tour, and I think about 3: Cemeteries Of London, 42 and White Shadows. Which others songs do you think that will be there? It could be cool if they make a setlist full of songs that fit with the GS theme.

All of the past albums have included a track with the same name as the album, even if it's only a short little thing like "Parachutes" or "Mylo Xyloto." Ghost Stories doesn't appear to have one, at this point. Could it be one of the bonus tracks, or a hidden song? Or have they simply not bothered with that this time 'round?

With the worldwide success of 'BEYONCE', should Coldplay just go ahead and release LP6 in its entirety? Coldplay are huge album sellers and they don't usually sell many singles. I think they should but unlike Beyoncé, they should give us a release date. They won't be the first band to do so either, My Bloody Valentine and Radiohead have done it before. And people will judge the album without being bias by the singles.

Prediction time! 1) How many tracks will LP6 have? 2) How long will LP6 be? 3) Assuming it will be released in 2014, which month will it be released? 4) Guess the new look. What will LP6 era costumes look like? 5) Where do you think LP6 will land within the broad spectrum of music genres/styles? 0k, so we have already listened Midnight and Magic, which are good but are also very slow. I don't know what do you think, but I'm really starving of hearing something really fast and heavy from Ghost Stories. I mean, a song full of guitars and drums. What I want now is the storm after the calm, the Shiver or Yellow, the Politik, the Square One, the Chinese Sleep Chant or the Major Minus of Ghost Stories. Don't know which one of the titles could be that song.

in this trilogy , theres no lyrics in recent albums booklet. Viva la vida and Mylo Xyloto booklet just give us some artwork and photos. Do you think that LP6 booklet will give us lyrics? Do you want lyrics on the booklet of the albums that you bought, or you think that lyrics is not necessary?

A poll to have a simple count of two seemingly opposed directions they could go on LP6. You can predict what they will do or what you'd want them to do. "Acoustic" means basic instruments and minimal studio embellishments, AKA going back to their roots. "Adventurous" would be everything else, something they've never tried before.
