Hi, I hope this is in the right section, I ran a search but did not find anything relating to this question. Anyway, I was wondering, has Chris or anyone ever mentioned the meaning behind the lyrics of Amsterdam in any interviews? I'm not sure, but I was just wondering what the meaning could be. I know the meanings of most songs aren't really revealed but I was just wondering if the band has talked about this song. Thanks!

Lately, i've decided to start collecting some of the Coldplay EP's and singles and i came across a seller who is selling a Shiver single. When i looked at the picture however, the coloring on some of the non- black and white parts of the album cover appeared different from what most other shivers looked like. I was listening to this CD last night, when my dad (Who despises Coldplay) came in my room and said 'are u alright?' I replied, 'yea, why?', then he says 'I just thought u were gonna kill urself', I asked y he thought this and he said 'this is a kill yourself album' Errr.... I dont see how, its relaxing.

This is a truly great song, but I don't really think that the studio recording on AROBTTH shows all of it's "power". I think that it's true power is shown on the Live 2003 DVD when it shows Chris banging on the acoustic and Jonny banging his guitar and will banging his drums while Guy bangs on his bass, it's a whole gang bang!!! ok, enough with the sickness....but yeah, lol, you all should get that DVD if you don;t have it. I usually listen to the CD that comes with it more often then I do with AROBTTH nowadays..... Comments? Thoughts? Opinions?
