Wow. I just heard this song for the first time and it's amazing. How the hell did this not make it onto X&Y? It's got a nice catchy verse and then that lovely, bittersweet chorus that reminds me so much of why I fell in love with Coldplay in the first place. Also reminds me much more of their AROBTTH days, I'm guessing that's why they never released it besides as a bonus track on the Japan disc... What really pisses me off about other people is when they say that Coldplay suck. coldplay is the best band that we have today. their melodies are one of a kind, their lyrics are the best and you can actually understand every word that they are saying in each of their songs. when people say that Panic! at the disco and bands like that are the best i feel like rocking them. i know that everyone has a different genre of music and they may of never hear any of coldplays songs but dont say they suck then. one last thing. when people say that coldplay is gay that pisses me off the most. first of all 3/4 of them are married and guy just divorced. i hate to admit that i …

If you play Violet Hill on a stereo system you will note that the vocals seem very reverb-ish...like the sound you would get if you recorded them in a huge open cathedral.... I'm sure we all remember when the big buzz was that the guys headed to Spain to do some recording in a Spanish Cathedral....I wonder if Violet Hill vocals were one of them...?

Apparently Violet Hill sounds a lot like a whole bunch of other songs, but I don't seem to follow a few apparent "similar" songs... my sister suggested "Strangelove" by Depeche Mode and "Take These Broken Wings" by Mr. Mister. :laugh3: What do you guys think VH sounds like? Personally this song reminds me a bunch of "Eternally Missed" by Muse. Just got an email from someone who works at London IMAX who tells me that Coldplay's new single, Violet Hill, will be released as an internet download in three weeks time, according to Chris Martin. Chris was spotted at the London IMAX cinema where he told the worker that the single would be a download only. Chris was on his way to seeing the Rolling Stones musical film "Shine A Light". There is a radio DJ from Mexico City ( The radio station is Reactor 105.7 FM) who happens to be a huge fan of britpop. He has his own website where he writes about several topics. Ive got to say that he has certain level of reputation and he is trustworthy when it comes an announcement of any show or news from some bands.
