Mylo Xyloto (2011)

I thought, if people still felt to express their views on the album that we could do it this way. When you post, post one thing that you like about the album, and one thing you don't like about the album. I thought this could be a fair way to do this. Also, explain yourself, don't just put UWTB is amazing, or Paradise is shit. Bad thing: Vocals. Some places its great, some places they seem incomplete. The vocals for Charlie Brown seem to have something off about them. Also, in HLH, the way Chris says, "It's true, when you" towards the end of the song, it doesn't seem right. I haven't actually seen anyone else explicitly say this, so I'm gonna break the silence - I think it's a very, very mediocre album, not up the standards of any prior Coldplay album. It sounds flat and predictable. The songs are often meandering and build up to nothing. Hurts Like Heaven, Paradise and Charlie Brown are the only good songs on here. Some other songs are decent, others are insipid. Ultimately it's a safe and empty-sounding fifth effort.

Lets start a list of all the songs that make up the individual MX songs, like this: Chinese Sleep Chant + Rainy Day = Hurts like heaven:D In My Place + Moses = Charlie Brown Parachutes + Prospekt's March = UFO Violet Hill + A Whisper = Major Minus Glass of Water + ETIAW = Don't let it break your heart Lost + LiJ = POC get it?

hi everyone, i was wondering between m.m.i.x. and etiaw, on my itunes, mmix ends loud, and etiaw starts quiet, and there seems to be no gapless playback. i ripped this off my mylo cd. any ideas?

Its simple, name the album sides. Much like Stadium Arcadium had Mars and Jupiter, MX needs proper names because of how different the two sides are. My Idea: Side A - Alien Radio Side B - Major Minus Media Like each side is a radio station with its own set of songs, one the rebelling radio station and the other the station of big corporate media... which happens to have Rihanna on it >.>

Does anyone know anything about this? I cannot find information on it anywhere and it's driving me crazy. I want to know what it looks like...

all i know is that etiaw is the only on disc single and im still waiting for paradise. but apparently POC was supposed to come out on the 25th what happened with that? the singles seem all messed up im confused... lol

There's been a ton of grumbling as to why Chris' voice sounds so overproduced on Mylo Xyloto. For years Chris has tried to prevent Coldplay from turning into "The Chris Martin Show". I think he finally found a way to do this by making his vocals one of the various instruments used to tell a story. While we all love the old formula (which places raw vocals on top of the music), the band has finally found a way to create an album that puts everyone equally in the spotlight. Thoughts?

What song do you guys think would end up being the Yellow/Clocks/Fix You/Viva La Vida of this album? I don't necessarily mean the best song in the album, just that one song that in the album that everyone recognizes immediately and associates with the album. Just like how every time Parachutes is mentioned, Yellow is also mentioned and etc.
