The now ex Oasis member stated in an interview in April this year that he would like to produce a coldplay album. In an interview for Hong Kong Magazine: Have you thought about producing records for other people, like Bernard Butler does?N: I have produced several records but nothing came of of that...I'd still want to produce records for bands that I like though, like Coldplay. They've got their own stuff and I've seen them live many times. They're brilliant. (Anyone in particular you'd want to work with then?) No...my ambition stays inside Oasis. I wouldn't find myself saying "Hey, you know what?! I'd LOVE to work with 50 Cent!!". Nah...my hands are full with Oasis a…

Hi. Doess anyone know where to download a full Coldplay Discography, including all the albums, singles and EP:s? I've got one but a lot of songs are on the wrong albums/singles/EPs. And some songs are missing. That's very annoying. Thank you :D

Does anyone of you also like A whisper? Don't you think it's one of their most underrated songs ever? At first I really did not like this song for a long time while listening to A rush of blood to the head. I've always skipped it but then I "forced" myself to listen to it while driving and after a few times I began to like it. Now I think this is one of the most special songs they ever made. It's outstanding because Chris' voice and the melody is in the background but nevertheless their is a certain dynamic to it that I can't describe in technical terms, because I'm no professional musician. However to my ears the instrumental arranging (especially the guitars) is …

So let's talk about Chris's song writing, come here to discuss any song you don't understand, or give your interpretation about it, not necessarily what Chris really meant... discuss what it means to you personally, or over what do you think Martin wrote it etc. PS: Don't discuss obvious songs like yellow :dozey:

Should act as a model of what Coldplay should do their next album like. You know, ye olde English folk tune sort. Cemetries of London is the only song on my ipod which I can listen to where it transports me to a different place, back in time in Victorian London. The creepiness, the darkness - all songs should be like that for the next album where it takes us the listener somewhere different. It truly is a remarkable song and should have been part of a conceptish album of music from an old, traditional cultured backround.

In a response to the article that wants to see Brian Eno ditched (I would never do it. VLV was the first step forward in changing Coldplay's sound - it'd be the equivalent of sacking Fabio Capello from the England manager's job) I ask who then should produce? Personally I'd like to see Mark Stent. The man has worked with Muse, Radiohead, U2, Keane and many other big names. He also produced Oasis's record Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants, a sonic experiment that wasn't looked favourably on release but has seen a drastic change of opinion over the years.

Okay firstly don't lynch me for not being hardcore enough, lol, I've only got (and love) the Coldplay albums, though obviously I've been aware of them releasing stuff prior to Parrachutes but I've never actually heard any of it...But I was in a second hand/rare CD shop in Notting Hill the other week and saw the Blue Room and some other stuff going for about £20-30 each, I didn't buy them at the time but I've been thinking about going back there and getting them. Is it worth spending that kind of money? I know a lot of people love some of that early stuff. And yes I know I could just download them but not really the same as owning a rare CD.

I couldn't find the appropriate thread for this song...but I just have one question. Is it "Pilots up and away they fly, to write your name in the summer sky" or is it "Hide and sob and away they fly, to write your name in the summer sky"? It sounds more like "Pilots up" to me, and that fits into the song better with the writing your name in the summer sky bit, but some lyrics sites say it's hide and sob?

Does anyone know which show(s) the tracks were recorded at? I'm very interested to find out. I'm not sure if that information was released anywhere, though. I was hoping the CD would have the show information somehow included (in the track name, etc.), but nothing. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know, it sounds kind of fun. Anybody wanna play? I shall start. Parachutes: apologetic, devotion then I guess you can explain why you picked those words. In Parachutes, some of the songs seem to be about the poetic voice or whatever you want to call it apologizing for an argument (Sparks, Life is for Living, and obviously Trouble); most of the others seem to involve, well, obviously devotion to somebody (Yellow, Shiver, Parachutes, Everything's Not Lost, and you possibly could possibly count High Speed if you wanted.) So, yep. This might possibly generate some discussion. Which would be interesting! Come on people.

Hello fellow Coldplay enthusiasts. While I have enjoyed Coldplay's latest offerings (and eagerly await the upcoming Prospekt's March EP) I have grown tired of waiting for a Studio Release of "Ladder to the Sun" which is among the greatest Coldplay songs ever. I feel it's time us fans all take action and let the band know how much we all want a Studio version of the song. Please sign the online petition which I have created, and help attain the ambitious goal of One Million signatures. Hopefully it helps get the wheels moving for what I worry might never happen otherwise. Thank-you all! PS And if you haven't heard "Ladder to the Sun," then please check it out. You'…

I think they are not that good. Chris's falsetto is horrible. Although the piano work is lovely. Although I kind of like Goodbye and Good Night a little. Also I keep calling it it Good Night and Good Luck; discuss.
