t’s now several years since the LP was released worldwide, so high time we had another go at ‘Survivor’ – if only to see if our tastes have changed since the last LP. For those of you not familiar with this, basically in each round, you choose a song from Parachutes (Japan. vers) to vote OFF – i.e. your least favorite. After 2 days (2am UK time) the song with the most votes gets booted, and we move on to the next round on until we’re left with the most popular song on the LP, as voted by you. So, here we go with Round 1… Get voting, kids. 1 - Don't Panic 2 - Shiver 3 - Spies 4 - Sparks 5 - Yellow 6 - Trouble 7 - Parachutes 8 - High Speed 9 - We Never Ch…

Yes, yes, it's a horrible pun, I know. Couldn't resist. Also, I'm a marginally old user reappearing for no obvious reason, blah, blah, whatever. More to the point: a hopefully entertaining Coldplay-related thing! Which has probably been done before, but not recently! So...how good of a Coldplay album do you think you can make? Only 3 rules: 1. Coldplay songs only (obviously). 2. Less than 80 minutes, so that it could (at least in theory) all fit on one audio CD. 3. If anyone uses Lost+ I will do this: :dozey: To start it off, here's mine, complicatedly titled... Deep Thought or... All The Best Coldplay Songs That Aren't Popular Enough (And Some Of T…

Coldplay needs to hire someone new to master their forthcoming releases. It started with X&Y and has now perpetuated on Viva La Vida and Prospekt's March. They should do away with this loud, compressed nonsense and return to the warm and organic mastering style of Parachutes and AROBTTH. On the new album, I can practically hear pixelation in Chris's voice, even playing straight from the CD or a lossless rip. Their past few releases have sounded horrible, almost painful to the ear. Anyone else agree?

This was too much fun to make. I could make coldplay playlists all day long. Not taking away from a great album an EP But if you could combine the 2 into 1 what would it be. Mine: Life in Technicolour II Rainy Day Lovers in Japan (Osaka) 42 LOST! Yes Chinese Sleep Chant Glass of Water Postcards From Far Away Viva La Vida Violet Hill Prospekts March/Poppy Fields Strawberry Swing Death and All His Friends Now My Feet Wont Touch the Ground Lovers in Japan (Acoustic) The Escapist Listened to it all together on my iPod and it all flowed great.

As much as I like both songs - does anyone else think that Martin has lately built a song up then lost his way a bit??? These two songs are a prime example. Prospekt builds and builds until it just stops and drifts off.....meanwhile the first part of 42 is pretty much for me the best piece of music the band have ever done......then it just goes into something else i was so disappointed.....it could have been coldplays best song imo.

The title pretty much says it all. What non album tracks could you see the band putting on the eventual "best of/greatest hits" along side the mega hits like Yellow, Speed of Sound, Violet Hill... So far i think that See you Soon off of the Blue Room EP and, from what i've heard of it live, Glass of Water of off the soon to be released Prospekt's March EP both have the potential to make the cut. Possibly the live version of Moses of off 2003 as well... your thoughts?

[DISCLAIMER: I know how OCD this is, but I've wondered since X&Y came out. lol] At 1:09 in "What If" (during "...could put right what I..."), there's this... noise (left channel, headphones) during the "right." I can't explain it, but it's very noticeable (at least to me). I wonder, is it a mastering error or noise from the studio?

If we can assume that Play de Froid are to continue in this style of Revolution Francaise music, with the matching costumes (cos we all know how much Chris likes to play dress-up), what do you think a good title for the fifth album would be? Assuming that none of the songs from the Eno sessions make the next album (basically, it's not gonna be called Leftrightleftrightleft). Also, any submissions for artwork are cool. Plus, do you think they will stay in this vein and consider Album No.5 the second album of their second 'trilogy'? We can only wonder... Violent Hill.

It seems the EP is really a limited release. 250k worldwide. Not sure how many copies will be sold here. I just called the biggest local CD retailer. They didn't know about it and asked me to check with them tomorrow evening. So probably I can only get it on Tuesday, or I WON'T GET IT AT ALL. Damn it...
