disappointed with the new CD? I think AROBTTH is one of the best CDs of all time, and I absolutely adored Coldplay before X&Y. After X&Y's release I began to lose faith fast, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt... it was their 3rd CD and only bad one of the bunch (we wont go into why X&Y sucked so much because if you don't know then I'm not really interested in discussing music with you anyway). Now with VLV etc. I think they have gone the wrong direction again. The new CD will be their most popular obviously, but because it is undoubtedly pop, and over-produced. Not to mention, Chris' lyrics are atrocious in this album "you might be a big fish …

By Robert Webb Friday, 25 July 2008 Coldplay's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head, was nearing completion when an excited Chris Martin arrived at the studio late one night. At the keyboard, he played the tune running through his head. Lead guitarist Jonny Buckland was impressed. "He picked up his guitar [a sure sign that he likes a song] and played these brilliant chords," Martin recalls. "It was like a chemical reaction process." The pulsing, cyclical riff – inspired, according to Martin, by the band Muse – was edgy, hectic and suggested an uneasy passage of time. The band all agreed: this was the sound to herald the next phase in Coldplay's musical deve…

Sorry if this is already up somewhere, but I couldn't find it. They've been selling "tour program" things at the concerts, which have (among other things) the lyrics for all VLVODAAHF songs...and also the mysterious song "The Goldrush", which apparently isn't the same as "Death Will Never Conquer" at all. If you don't have a program yet and can't wait, here's the lyrics according to it: I went digging for gold Down by the river Over by the mountain Where the prospektor had been told I'm marching through the cold We're marching through the cold I went digging for gold I went down with my brother A bucket and a shovel and a book about the colour of coal …

I got bored. Nominate 10 songs to be on Coldplaying.com's "Coldplay - The Greatest Hits" list for 2008. You have all summer. Yay! Please only nominate singles of the albums. You may nominate singles off VLV if you want. Off you run! :D

I just don't get it... keep reading so many posts from people saying that their new album is so much better than X&Y... I think these people need to get their back catalogue out again and remind themselves of the tracks on the album. White Shadows, Low, Swallowed in the Sea, Speed of Sound, Talk, Square One, What If... all amazing. Really all the tracks on the album are amazing! From their new album (which I've cained to death by the way) I have only really found myself liking Yes! (Chinese Sleep Chant), 42, Reign of Love and Violet Hill. The others just don't really stand out in my head. Whilst working today I started humming Strawberry Swing, but I don…

What do you guys think is the best line on each LP? For me, it would probably be as follows: Parachutes Sparks: I won't let you down...oh, yes, I will, yes, I will, yeah Rush of Blood Politik: Give me love over, love over, love over this X&Y Fix You: Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you Viva La Vida Strawberry Swing: Don't you wanna just curve away?

Has anybody else had any sort of, random changes of heart about Coldplay songs? This track never meant all that much to me before but it just came on StreamPlay and I can't stop repeating it on iTunes now. I wonder why on Earth that is.

I absolutely adore the album and think it's their very best yet, but most of the songs leave me wanting more... and very much more. It all started with Violet Hill for me. Such a mind-blowing track, and yet over before you know it. Live it's amazing how quickly that oh-so-delicious moment's been and gone like a wafer-thin mint (must be said in a faux-French accent!) :( It continues all throughout the album, almost like a theme: LiT is only half the track that (hopefully) we'll one day get; CoL finishes soon after it finally starts to soar as high as it always threatens to; Yes likewise, when it almost screams for an extended outro a la Fool's Gold or I Am the Resu…

I apologise in advance if this has already been covered, but according to a recent article in NME, Coldplay state that an unreleased track titled Lunar with Kylie Minogue is to be released on an album due for release in 2009. What do we think the chances of this are? I remember when X&Y was released, Chris had said in an interview we could expect a new album the year after X&Y, but as we know, that didn't happen. Would be nice though... [ URL]="http://nme.com/news/coldplay/37056"[/url]

I think this album has some parts that really really sound like Radiohead, and that may not have been an accident. Listen to: Cemeteries of London- 1:58 to 2:04 (Chris sounding a lot like Thom Yorke) 42-1:47 to 2:43 (guitar riffs really sound like Radiohead, especially during second half, also Chris "aahhh" sounds like Yorke on In Rainbows) Yet the whole album has a feel to it that's very Radiohead-ish. Weird sound effects(beginning of Strawberry Swing, beginning of CSC), more bizzare lyrics (Cemeteries, 42, CSC), and stuff like that. Please note, Im not saying this is a bad thing or that it's plagiarism. I just wondered if anyone else noticed these things and m…

Thread Title: Pls don’t read this you’ll be bored…An Amazed Fan Review: All of Coldplay’s Four Amazing Albums Hey Guys here I go again, I re edited this thread because I thought the thread I did before was oh so wrong. It was already bad reviewing every song individually by judging it by numbers and only had just listened to it for only a month so those albums did not yet really grow on me and ultimately I was just fresh as a Coldplay fan. But! I will make sure that your reading would be worth your time and those who are curious on how someone like me from the Pacific would view a Coldplay album. 1.) Parachutes – 8 Mill + albums sold worldwide The First time I …
