Is there anywhere I can find high resolution pictures of the album and singles artwork? I thought there should be a thread about this so we can all have them in good quality. Does anyone have any to share?

I know it is kinda selfish to make my review its own thread, but I feel as if this is a slightly new take on the album. So maybe, hopefully, it's warranted? What really caught me was the duality of the album: the band repeatedly stated that this album should be listened to from start to finish; an album, in its truest sense, and not merely a collection of songs. I noticed a trend occurring throughout the record; the songs alternate between sunny and dark, life and death...Viva La Vida and Death and All His Friends, if you will. I am going to try to talk about the duality I have noticed... two tracks at a time. The first track is called "LIFE in Technicolor," it is u…

Hey guys, I ordered my copy of the album on amazon.com two weeks before it came out in the US (June 17). but on June 16, I opened up my mailbox and I saw a copy of the Album!!!!!! I was kind of shocked... was that just a mistake or was that intended? I'm kind of scared of legal issues...

I was reading the credits in the booklet to the new album and came across something that said "supporting players." I also remember reading somewhere that Martin had been taking a break from the piano to focus on his vocals. I think I read that in one of the Prospekt messages. Also, some of the songs don't sound like his style of playing. Especially Cemetaries of London and Violet Hill (the part at the end). I was just wondering if anyone knew how much piano Martin played on this album. Its been in my mind ever since I bought the album and listened to the songs over and over again.

I posted this question in a vinyl thread a while ago but I don't think i got an answer. Is it normal to have 2 cds included with the vinyl? I purchased my copy on the release date, but since I don't have a record player it took me a while to open it and look inside. Here's a pic of what was included. Notice the two white cds. I've been receiving questions and comments on flickr about it so I'm thinking it may have been a mistake if others don't have it.

People, I just came from the mall. I bought one of the first copies of Viva La Vida that was released here in my country only 2 hours ago. I had been listening only to mp3s of Viva La Vida until this morning that I put the cd in my cd player. I'm finishing my second listening and I want to shout, scream, run to the door and tell everybody that this album is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!. By the time Lovers in Japan started I was already in tears!! Maybe I'm being too emotional but I couldn't stop crying. This cd is excellent. I won't make any kind of comparison against other albums. I love all songs in this cd, but of course, some have totally blown my mind. …

I was listening to the song on headphones yesterday morning, and at 1:45 there's a voice in the right channel. I can't tell what it says, but its great. I always jump a bit and think someone's trying to get my attention when I've got headphones on *grin* Has anyone else noticed that? In fact, there's quite a bit of external noise going on in this album. I really love that. It's the same with Parachutes/AROBTTH.. hearing people talking in the back, or the click of keys on the organ/keyboard. That's the stuff that makes it come to life in my opinion. No matter how overly produced it is, when you hear things like that, its a nice reminder that you're not listening to rob…

Even though I think the album is great, I don't see that many 'singles' from it. List 4 singles you think they should go with for this album. 1. Viva La Vida 2. Violet Hill 3. Lost! 4. Strawberry Swing

I was just wondering if anyone else's copy jumps on Lost! because I bought if from their website and discovered it jumped so sent it back for another copy, only to find out that that copy also jumps on Lost!. Thats the only track they jump on. Do you think they are all like that or just the batch HMV have got?

Not that you'd be able to recognize good music if it had two fingers up your ass…

The only songs I liked were The Escapist (a weird twist on Life In Technicolour), Death and All His Friends, Lost!, and Viva La Vida. The rest IMO were utter crap. Who's with me!? :laugh3: Basically all the songs that were leaked was all I needed. Rest are seriously blah. Viva La Vida is by far the best one to me. Kings, Roman Conquest, Monarchy. Beautiful

For any collectors out there, I found this 2 Track CD release of Viva La Vida. The CD has the radio edit and the full album version on it. This one is quite expensive, but there's a few others floating around... http://cgi.ebay.com/Coldplay-Viva-La-Vida-2-Track-CD-Single-Rare_W0QQitemZ330245196093QQihZ014QQ

Right, having listened to the album quite a lot, both at work on my iPod, though my car speakers and though my room's speaker system, I'm happy enough to do a review on the album. In my honest opinion the album scores a very reasonable 9.7 out of 10, the tracks all have something special about them, however the album loses marks for lacking a proper sense of flow between tracks (they could have linked the ending to Life In Technicolor with the start of Cemeteries Of London, so you could tell it was 2 tracks which flowed into each other). The biggest disappointment are with Reign of Love & Chinese Sleep Chant, where they have good flow with their previous tracks,…

Wow. So I have to confess that I downloaded the leak--and I am in heaven now that I'm listening to these new songs as I type this. I locked myself in my room and just hit play on the first track and was immediately pleased. I have to say, though, that as the album closed off I started to think "Well this album was good, really good in fact, but not GREAT." BUT then I listened through a 2nd time and wow. All I can think of to say right now is that this album is brilliant. It has a new sound which is probably why I didnt see how amazing it really is at first. The first run through the album was sort of an adjustment, acclimation stage. And now that I have liste…

Is it just me, or a few of the songs suffering from poor sound mixing? Where it is hard to hear the singing over the background music? It is kinda of frustrating. You kinda expect it at a concert, but not in a cd.

This is something that has been on my mind since I first became a Coldplay fan. Many people I talk to see Yellow as the quintessential Coldplay song, possibly even their anthem. I can't get into it like everyone else, to me, it's just a formulaic, mediocre pop-rock track. Musically i'm not thrilled, lyrically I can't connect with it. Then there's beautiful, ambient and sonic tracks like Clocks which to me stand above Yellow. I just haven't warmed to it, in fact, Yellow is why I was so delayed in buying the Parachutes album, only to be surprised by the non-singles. Have I gone mad? Where does everybody else place Yellow?
