Just to get away from all the debate surrounding Paradise, thought I'd have a go and trying to work out what 'story' MX is telling. Sorry if this has already been done, just don't read it rather than tell me that if it has. Chris has said it's a love story surrounding boy and girl protagonists. I’ve been thinking it over, and I’ve found some parallels between the upcoming Coldplay album and the 2009 Green Day album. They are both concept albums, with male and female central characters and a general graffiti artist/anti-establishment theme. Okay so going by the live performances and pure guesswork, how many singles do you think will be lifted from MX? And which songs? Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall Paradise Charlie Brown Up in Flames Hurts Like Heaven Charlie Brown sounds like it could be a huge hit like Clocks and Viva la Vida, ETIAW and Paradise are obviously already singles, HLH just sounds immediate and catchy to me, which is a clear sign for a single in my opinion and I'm not sure about UIF, but I've heard on here a few times that the band have been talking up this one particular track, not sure if it's true or not but I've just got a good feeling about it.

The boards are filled up with hate today, Paradise this, Paradise that. So let's change it up a bit, anyone have any predictions on which song/release day will be next and when info like this will be announced? I'm personally thinking it'll be Charlie Brown somewhere around the last week of September (25th-30th), hope we find out soon! :)

Im sick of everyone hating on Paradise, and all the other singles because they don't sound like AROBTTH, new flash, the album is called mylo xyloto, not AROBTHH: THE 2ND COMING!!! Paradise is good, now stop thinking about other albums, and LISTEN!!

People are overreacting to the fact that Coldplay sounds too popish now, and that their lyrics aren't as amazing as before. I think the problem people are having is that they aren't remembering this is a concept album. Theres 14! (or more!!!) songs that are telling a giant story, so it doesn't matter if each song doesn't have the worlds most thought out lyrics. I love Paradise, and from hearing all the songs they've released/played so far, this is Coldplay's true ROCK album. I have to admit that when I originally heard that Coldplay were doing a "concept" album of sorts, I was excited. But when I heard it was loosely based on a love story, OCD, and songs where Chris was writing from another person's perspective, I started to worry. Then I got really excited when I saw some of the song titles making their way around the internet. When "Every Teardrop" finally fell in our laps, however, I was disappointed. I am wondering if I should buy the CD or the Digital version of Mylo Xyloto. I have Digital copies of Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, but I have CD copies of X&Y and Viva la Vida. What should I get?

Why would they include 2 out of the 3 EP songs and leave MTM out? Most CP albums have hidden songs. Any idea that U.F.O might include MTM? theyre both about space :) lol

I've heard a lot of criticisms aimed at many of the new songs, and others completely loving it. And because of that the only the truly outspoken and strongly for or against the songs are heard. So I ask you. How would you rate that songs (out of 10) that we've heard and are going to make MX? Given that Coldplay has named all of their albums after a song on the album, what would you have named the album It from the 14 available options? Kept is Mylo Xyloto or gone in a different direction? Personally, granted this opinion is without hear the entire album , I would have named it either A Hopeful Transmission or Up with the Birds, probably the latter.

In my opinion the B-sides of Coldplay are mostly the best tracks that they make. 'i ran away' 'animals' 'crests and waves' 'Moving To Mars' 'Carefull where you stand' and so on. Why do they put mostly crap on the actual albums.????

Both ETIAW and Paradise are both bass/synth heavy and begging for people to start remixing them... not a fan. But i guess they have to do what ever it is to get on top 40 radio again.

are my biggest concern. Because so far through these singles (and even the other songs we've heard) I have heard very little lyrics that have left that "wow" factor with me. I haven't heard anything that has truly strummed the chords of my heart. Instead I've heard mostly poppy wa-wa-waterfalling, para-para-paradising, a lot of OOOOHS (Even in Major Minus, HLH,) a lot of repetition, cheesiness, (butterflies, chris. you're singing about butterflies) and overall lyrical laziness. I've opened my head to the new sound they're after, and after a while I've grown to like it. But the lyrics are one thing I dont feel right about. (of course there are a few exceptions, I love UAT…

You are the ones who took time out of your day to write a post or make a thread about your favorite band. Why not just go with the flow? I understand criticism, but sometimes it goes a little to far people. I love Coldplay more now than I ever did... They just finished their 5th album and I can't wait to hear it. :dozey:

I couldn't find a thread on this, shockingly! I can't believe what I've just spotted, look in the centre! What appears to be an alien-shaped head and face is there! With big eyes and it looks kinda like it has a balloon string underneath it! Can anyone else spot it!?
