Am I really the first to create this (lame) thread? Mine is A Hopeful Transmission, or M.M.I.X.

See here's the thing. Back in the day, track order mattered, as records were one long, unskippable art form. These days, you can pick and choose which songs to listen to, so my question is, does the order of these tracks matter all that much to you? Personally, I was disappointed Viva got off to a relatively slow start, so it's exciting to see Hurts Like Heaven (probably the most energetic track) as the one really kicking off MX. And to me, track 10 on any record is an important milestone, so here's hoping Princess of China is as epic as A Rush of Blood to the Head/Death and All His Friends :D

Hey, don't know if anybody has seen this, or created a thread about this. So I wanted to ask if anybody thinks that this has a meaning. At the backside of the album, there are symbols for every song and if you look precise you can find letters all over. it goes like this MX, CK, maybe an I at the 6th, 8th is an O, then at the Princess of China logo there is an X and a H at Hopeful Transmission and the bird looks like an turned K. Don't know if that has any meaning, I just wanted to tell.

Does anyone else feel like killing themselves over having to wait so long for this album? lol, I mean we've waited over 3 years! Give us a tracklist for pete sake! Sorry, just venting lol

Coldplay just posted on their facebook the album tracklisting with the caption "Side A and Side B on the studio wall" This fits in with the two sided tracklisting theory people came up with yesterday. Maybe MX is a concept album and the story is in two parts?

...Is that we know too much! Obviously we heard ETIAW and Major Minus back in June. We will be hearing Paradise next week, and MX, Hurts Like Heaven, UATW, Charlie Brown, PoC have been heard at festivals and apparently Up In Flames and DLIBYH are being added to the tour setlist along with paradise...that means that we have already heard 10 of the 14 songs that are on the album! What I enjoyed about VLV was the fact that (if I'm not mistaken) we had only heard 3 songs: Viva La Vida, Violet Hill and the acoustic version of Lost before the album came out, so were there tons of new songs to hear completely for the first time...it won't be the same for MX! So,we got 14 new songs and i`m glad that i`m not a member of the Band because iam pretty sure it will be a hard and difficult choice for them to make a setlist for the upcoming tour...may we have to say goodbye to a few songs,we love a lot... Whats your opinion ?

Good idea? Bad idea? I personally am somewhat annoyed that, after paying $8 total on the ETIAW ep (why I payed that much for 2 copies of ETIAW I do not know :sick:), I will have yet another copy of ETIAW and Major Minus. Those two songs have already been released on an EP (not even a promotional single per se), I don't see the logic of adding them onto the album. So, do you like the idea of getting 3 (possibly more depending on what else is on the Paradise single) songs that have already been released, again?

Does anyone think the chords of Paradise are the same as Warning Sign?

Chris apparently wants 13 songs The rest of the band wants 10 songs Here's my theory though: How do we know the other 3 songs arent the other studio songs? I dont if that's even accurate but id rather just have brand new studio songs

Umm we've had Yellow Green Eyes White Shadows Violet Hill. And no "Golden Arrow" on the tracklisting - so it is the first Coldplay album not to feature a "coloured" title. (Unless GA ends up being a hidden track, but yeah they've already got 14 tracks, they can't put EVERYTHING on, can they?)

CK So in seeing the photos Coldplay posted on Facebook, does anyone else think that the CK we've so long thought was supposed to be representative of Car Kids/an alien could also be what looks like a horizon line with the sun above and the road leading to it? I was just looking at it on FB and it definitely looks more like a horizon with a sun than an alien. What do you think? EDIT: Note that you can only tell this by looking at a K that is not written in the style of this sight. One where the two out lines come together on the same place as the vertical line, if you know what I mean.

Ok I know this might sound a bit far out, but here are my thoughts. I think Mylo Xyloto might be an alien, for various reasons. 1- Aliens, U.F.O., stand to play a big part in the story of MX. I think they are going to be the good guys (light blinking to to tell me it´s alright) and will maybe help the two main protagonists in the end (hopeful transmissions). They might possibly end up flying away with the aliens in the end (up with the birds). 2- It would also tie in with Moving To Mars. Maybe it was not a metaphor at all. Maybe it is about the protagonists moving away from planet earth, after everything has gone up in flames 3- It would explain the weird nam…

Ok, so a lot of people were planning, maybe hoping on seeing more of Car Kids, maybe we still will on an EP, idk. But the bottom of the album proclaims a colorful "CK" as the 5th symbol, right where UAtW appears on the tracklisting. I was listening to the Glastonbury concert and toward the last 20 seconds of the song, the boys go into a guitar skid (almost The Who-ish) that doesn't seem to coincide or fit properly into the rest of the song...anyone think that this is maybe a transition into Car Kids as a hidden track? If I'm crazy please say so lol.

Will you be abstaining from listening to anymore new material until the album is eventually leaked / released? I personally will probably listen to Paradise when it comes out on Monday, after that though I'll be making every effort to avoid the rest of the songs they plan to play live between now and late October. Usually I'd be all over any leaks before a big release like this one, but I can't help but think - at least for what is supposed to be a concept album - that debuting most of the album live like this will lessen the impact of the final product a little. Not having a dig - it just means that I'll have to exercise a little bit more self-control this time round …

Similar to having the three track names that begin with L on the VLV album, and now 3 that start with U on MX, I also noticed something about the VLV album that looks like it may be carrying over into MX. Strawberry Swing, Life In Technicolor ii, and Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground, all use the phrase "Now my feet won't touch the ground". Is it possible that they are doing the same thing on MX except now with the phrase "Us against the world"?

When Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends came out in 2008, my friend Jonathan (who is just as big a Coldplay fan as I am and was with me when we went to what was our first Coldplay concert) came over to my house that night and we listened to it for the first time. It was pretty much an amazing experience... and I expect more of the same in October. Even though I live over an hour away from him now, you'd better believe he'll still be up here when Mylo Xyloto comes out next month. It's getting closer, and great to finally hear from Roadie again. So it looks like Up in Flames makes the cut, and seems to be a spectacular song along the lines of Fix You perhaps. it's amazing Chris wrote the night before the Itunes festival... wow, could it be the Clocks of the album - Roadie's description is interesting - hypnotically simple (kind of like the sound of the studiofeed sound we got a while back). Can't wait to hear it, and it's a part of the setlist. I guess for all the haters of the seemingly "trite" titles are going to be disappointed that DLIBYH is making the cut - i don't care about titles - i care about the music and the lyrics personally …
