Mylo Xyloto (2011)

Judging by what we've heard from Mylo Xyloto, "Charlie Brown", "Hurts Like Heaven", etc. Do you think Coldplay will win any Grammys in 2012? I certainly think they'll get nominated! What categories are you thinking?

Well since Mylo Xyloto is ALMOST here(not really, it's about a month and a half away :P), they've gotta be planning out their REAL worldwide tour! Do you think they'll tweak their outfits different then what we've seen in their festivals?? Give your ideas :)

This may seem like a really stupid thread, but I've seen a lot of support for both Charlie Brown and Princess of China, so my question is, if you had to pick just one of them to be on the album, and never hear a studio version of the other, which would you choose?

Hello Coldplayers, All of us,everyone is looking forward to Mylo Xyloto. The excitement is really huge so far and will grow more and more till the date of release... My question is,what could happen to the new album,the new songs or the upcoming tour what would/could disappoint you ?!

I hope so... it would be a bit disappointing to see the setlist stay mostly the same as the festival setlist (with the exceptions of the new songs from the album that they'll add). I hope the only thing that stays the same is MX/Hurts Like Heaven leading off and Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall finishing.

Yes, I admit I am very bored. Yes, this is not the first thread of it's kind, and Yes, Ill be the guy who starts the thread some people don't like, but a lot of people are bored too. Anyway what is your favorite unheard MX Song? Up With The Birds and Alien Radio are mine :D

(Ok, I thought about putting this in the live section, but it just wouldn't get any attention there, on top of that, Live performances have pretty much been Mylo Xyloto, so it relates to the album, and if I'm wrong then I apologize to the mods in advance!) After listening to it a few times, I am inclined to believe that this may be an early cut of the song. Also, with Charlie Brown leaking out, it's not too far fetched to see something like this happening. What do you think?

Hello, everyone! So I subscribe to Rolling Stone and in a small section of the new issue (Sept. 1, 2011) they talked about Coldplay's new, "weirder" sound. And they assigned star ratings to each song, including PoC. Hurts Like Heaven: 3.5 stars Charlie Brown: 2.5 stars Us Against the World: 3.5 stars Princess of China: 3 stars Rolling Stone is usually pretty harsh in their reviews, so I'm pretty pleased with those scores myself. :) Anyway, I just thought I'd share, since it's not online. OK. i see everyone wondering what that CB piano outro is all about. i can clear everything up. i have a few points to make: 1) I am sure its for CB, NOT for life is for living. i went to the ucla concert and they played CB and then ETIAW imediately after (for the jimmy kimmel show) Chris played that same outro and it lead right into ETIAW, so its definately apart of CB 2) I grew up in the USA, and in my house the entire family gathered to watch the classic Charlie Brown Christmas Special on television every year. MX, the song, is called Mylo Xyloto. The oracle has said at least twice that it was shortened to MX so as not to spoil the album title before its announcement. Also, it is not just that 20 second intro before Hurts Like Heaven, it is a proper length song/instrumental piece (which the oracle has also said at least twice).

Some of the songs strike a chord in me with the words (The Scientist, Clocks, Viva la Vida to name a few) but it's always been the SOUND- the incomparable melodies, structures, arrangements, and musical talent that draws me to their music.
