Mylo Xyloto (2011)

Anyone else find MX, well all Coldplay albums, to be journeys? I was listening to MX in the gym yesterday and when it stopped playing I realised I was completely disconnected from the room, well, until... ...when Up In Flames was playing. Someone compared it to Fix You once and I was like, wahh?. No where near as good! It's positioned in the wrong place, between 2 fast paced-ish songs and I just got annoyed that DLIBYH wasn't playing, the great song it is. Up In Flames isn't right for this album, well and truely. Bound to get people disagreeing that someone can dislike a Coldplay song but I think I do. Boring and repetitive song. Sorry guys, but it's better than lyi…

POC has been having terrible updates in US radio recently, its losing steam!!! I dunno why Coldplay has not made any announcement on what single they will release and promote in the US, if they just keep on not caring about it, POC (or charlie brown) might suffer as a result, just saying ...:( :( :(:confused:

i know that CB was announced as the next single and it already has a video, but POC was sent to US pop radio as well, and in fact there is no promotion of CB in the States, so which is which? im confused :o:o

The new single "Paradise" only confirms what we have long suspected: the Hollywood lifestyle is bringing the demise of this once great band. As many members have questioned, how is it that a band once capable of writing great songs like "Amsterdam" and "Politik" resort to releasing material like "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" and "Paradise"? The reason is that Chris Martin cannot handle the money nor the fame... he has been desensitized by the Hollywood lifestyle. When your life is pretty much perfect and you're hanging out with celebrities like Jay-Z + Beyonce on a regular basis, how can you continue writing songs dealing with unrequited love like "Sparks" or "A Warn…

Just curious what people thought about this... do you think that there will be a follow up EP to Mylo Xyloto, similar to what we saw with Prospect's March following Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends? I feel like the Eno sessions yield a lot of material... plus the references to "Car Kids" in the album artwork makes me feel like the band may have held a few tracks back, and may be hinting at another release.... thoughts?

So im good friends with the people at fye and they know i LOVE coldplay and they saved the promo poster and gave it to me for free :) its pretty amazing!!! here it is... Just thought i should share :D

Hello, (i hope its not a stupid new thread ;) ) So,after some concerts have been played there are still a few songs from MX we havent heard so far. These ones are: U.F.O. - DLIBYH - Up with the Birds and (except Rock im Park) Princess of China which is performed at this years Grammy-Awards,maybe. The Oracle said that there are always songs from each album which have never been played because of various reasons. She also mentioned that U.F.O. and Up with the Birds could easily be songs for the X-Stage... Princess of China we will only get to hear at the Grammys,in my opinion. Well, scratch that. It's been solved now. :lol: I'm not sure if this was mentioned before as I don't remember seeing it but anyone else notice MMXII appearing in the Paradise and Charlie Brown videos before EMI? Ok so two letters are swapped around and there's an extra 'I' (in CB video) but it certainly gives the M.M.I.X song a whole new meaning now. Or at least gives you something to think about. Maybe it got something to do with EMI? :sneaky: Can't be a coincidence right?

All of the MX tracks starting with U happen to be mostly acoustic downtempo songs, so I find them comparable. Which one's your favorite?
